Okay, I just thought of this topic since MTV's favorite video to play now is Nelly with Kelly Rowland or whatever her name is. They were #1 on the rap countdown and right after the countdown goes off, they show the exact same video again. So here's my question. Let's cut it into two parts. Part one will be the definite overplayed songs, and part 2 will be predictions. I'll tell more about part 2 when I get there.

Part 1:

Nelly and Kelly: Dilemma
Celine Dion: My Heart Will Go On
Macarena song
Faith Hill: Breathe

Part 2: This is for the new songs that you will wager will be overplayed in a few weeks time:
Faith Hill: Cry (I like the song now, but if it does get a ton of airplay I'll probably get sick of it. )
Shania Twain's new song

Part 1:
Eminem "Without Me" was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally overplayed for months...and i couldnt stand it because they'd play it like, once every hour! but now that he's got his new songs like "Lose Yourself" and "Hailie's Song" they don't play it too much anymore....i kinda miss it.....:(

Avril Lavigne "Complicated"....as much as I like Avril's CD that song is really getting annoying now.....really really overplayed when i listen to the radio...i love her other songs though!!!!! :)

Eminem "Cleanin Out My Closet" is really, really, REALLY overplayed here. I used to like it but then i heard it over and over and over and over and over again and im tired of it. Here they also play "Lose Yourself" and "Hailie's Song" which are both great.

Like you said, Nelly and Kelly Rowland "Dilemma" is really overplayed.

uhhhh i cant think of anymore rite now..........so.....

Part 2
I have a feeling "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkson will get overplayed once Kelly becomes a lot more popular than she already is. I like the song now......i just hope its not overplayed.

Avril Lavigne "Sk8er Boi" i do like that song but it might get too overplayed like Complicated.

Justin Timberlake "Like I Love You" that seems like it can get overplayed soon.

At work, i can tell what time it is by the amount of times I hear that on WPLJ.
Three times in the morning - then lunch
Two more times in the afternoon - time to go home

Songs that are/have been overplayed:

-Macarena (revisted in Michelina's horror commercials)
-Tubthumping
-La Vida Loca
-Complicated
-Matchbox 20's first hit song. It was so overplayed and I hate it so much I have actually blocked the song out of my brain
-That Brian Wilson song by Barenaked Ladies (god I hate that song!)

Those are the ones that spring to mind but there are so many.

I don't listen to the radio much anymore and I don't have cable so I don't really know what's going on in music right now, so I can't really make any predictions.

"Turn the Page" by Metallica IS very good, but some classic
songs current performers CANNOT do justice to!!! "American Woman" is one of them. It's just a pointless cover. Are people just not good enough to create their OWN songs that will be classics in years down the road??

Underneath it all is by No Doubt. I hate that song. It's just too slow for me. No Doubt usually sings the fast music. I like some of ND's slow stuff, but UIA is just too slow.
