View Full Version : Late nights with Freddie
jaycee 04-05-2001, 04:46 AM Am I wrong or does it seem like everybody is staying awake to watch the show? I chose the icon with shades because we are all going to need them to conceal the dark circles under our eyes!
On another topic, Mariposa i read chapter 3 of your story and already am impatient for the next installment! It is very well written and you can really put yourself into the story. Clever the way you interjected some of Freddie's real-life problems into the story!
From these episodes we are suffering through now, it seems hard to believe that people didn't realize that Freddie was on a collision course with disaster. It also really seems like he was crying out for help and not trying to conceal his problems. I wish something had been done for him so today he could be watching these reruns with us instead of...
Esmerelda 04-05-2001, 05:44 AM i actually set my alarm to get up to watch the show-pass me those sunglasses. Seeing ysterdays's episode was upsetting but I have to confess, girls, today I actually cried- he looked so unanimated, sad and not really into the show-it just breaks my heart-and I know it will only get worse. I agree that he was crying out for help-why didnt anyone do something??I know-hindsight-but to see someone deteriorate like that before your eyes, have knowledge of what he was doing and not address it. I know nothing can be done now but I guess I just needed to vent-tnanks fo listening-it helps!!
On a lighter note-Mariposa your story was wonderful-very well written-it really holds your interest-can't wait for the next installment!!!

MariposaLKB 04-05-2001, 05:57 AM Thanx for the compliments--more is on the way, but I don't know how soon!
I have been getting up at 5 these days because I don't want to tape anything more except the boxing episode and the one with Chico's father, but it's no big deal because my husband gets up then for work. He can wake me up!
There was some good in today's show--Chico spoke alot of Spanish--too sexy!!!
Luckymama58 04-05-2001, 06:42 AM Hey, Esmerelda, I'm glad to hear from you again. It's been a while. I agree, these shows are hard to watch, but I want them all on tape. As much as I want to remember Freddie as the viral young man he was in the early seasons of the show, this was a part of him, too. I guess this part of him appeals to the sympathetic, wanting to help side of me. It is fustrating to know I couldn't do anything, but I can still dream, can't I? I noticed he was favoring his right hand in today's episode. Was it the drugs or an injury? Wasn't he in a minor car accident, or was that just a regular DUI stop they talk about in the E! special. I'm confused. If anyone knows why his hand looks injured, Let me know. I'm curious.

Pitooey 04-05-2001, 09:51 AM Today was a bad day for me too. Seeing him the way he looked today, I had a lump in my throat. It was so obvious....... If I learned anything from seeing him on the show from beginning to end is to see and notice the people around me more. He looked so out of it. I was even wondering if he dabbled in heroin. (I hate to say this but).... It just breaks my heart. I saw him in the 70's but, I truly didn't notice (I was a young girl) Now it just breaks my heart. If Freddie taught me anything it was to listen when someone speaks to me and when they're crying out for help... Sniff
Cheryl Harrell 04-05-2001, 05:55 PM Another weird thing Inoticed about todays show was at the end when CHico-Freddie usually says Chico & the Man was taped in Burbak, California (Or was it LA) Freddie didn't say that just Jack Albertson. I wonder if he was too sick to have recorded that part?
flannelpjs 04-05-2001, 06:43 PM About his right hand? It may have been because he dislocated his right wrist when he punched a wall or something he wore a writst strap... Later
Luckymama58 04-05-2001, 06:59 PM whats this about his punching a wall? tell me more! Is this discussed in his mothers book? I need to get that book!!!

vmpire30 04-06-2001, 12:51 AM His mother did mention the fact that he held in his feelings and when he became angry instead of hitting someone he would hit a wall..I think that took place after Freddie and Cathy had wors about his drug use and the baby~~Freddie Jr~~ being gone for a while..
hi, cheryl,
freddie's pre-recorded tape would say
Burbank,California. Those tapes are pre-
recorded it had nothing to do with him being
sick that was someone's way of f--king with
freddie's head. by the way if all of us showed up together, only one of us would not
have bags under the eyes, "dream...er"!

Cheryl Harrell 04-06-2001, 04:36 AM I fell asleep earlier tonite & dreamed that I was in the 70's & watching a 70's tv special. It had Freddie in it & the folks from the Brady Bunch & my 3 Sons & some other old shows like that in it & it had the 70's actor Clark Brandon in it. Why he was in it I dunno as I haven't seen him on tv in yrs & have no idea what he is up to now. As I'm watching the show I said, Freddie Prinze is the cute one in this show...
