I've noticed that for nearly the entire year Nick has been showing the same maybe 10 movies every single day? Is the network going belly up soon and they're just filling time? I don't get it.

When you get the general picture when it was first launched in 1979 Nickelodeon was destined to be popular with the upcoming 80's children and they had planned to do just that. But when Herb Scannell became president of Nickelodeon his mission was to give Nickelodeon a new image starting with the debut of the famous Nickelodeon Orange color and debuting the very famous Nickelodeon Splat logo in 1985. Soon with those new changes Nickelodeon began a new life as a variety channel for kids and with sitcoms cartoons and game shows that could appeal to kids. It wasn't until the debut of Double Dare that Nickelodeon gained a strong interest in game shows and based on Double Dare's success Nickelodeon knew that game shows were their strong suit and soon with Double Dare spinning off shows like Super Sloppy Double Dare "Which were Double Dare reruns with a different title" and Family Double Dare Nickelodeon soon had a big love affair with game shows which continued to blossom with the debut of Finders Keepers in 1987 and just like Double Dare Finders Keepers received rave reviews and soon it took off like a rocket "Nickelodeon's love of game shows that is" and with Double Dare still going strong and Finders Keepers canceled Nickelodeon created shows like Out Of Control Make The Grade and Think Fast but it wasn't until the 90's that Nickelodeon's game shows took off with the debut of Get The Picture Nickelodeon Guts Nick Arcade and Legends Of The Hidden Temple and while you'll see Nickelodeon Guts Nick Arcade and Legends Of The Hidden Temple on Paramount+ as well as Double Dare you never see Finders Keepers and Get The Picture and Figure It Out on Paramount+ which is weird because they are Nickelodeon classic game shows. Outside of game shows the other strongest link of Nickelodeon has been cartoons and when the Nicktoons line was introduced in 1991 with Doug Ren And Stimpy and Rugrats Nickelodeon knew that this line would be successful. Although all three were hit cartoons it was actually Ren And Stimpy who got the most attention then Rugrats didn't get popular until 1997 when the cartoon went on a long hiatus and while many people thought Rugrats was cancelled the show continued to be so popular that the new episodes were finally made along with The Rugrats Movie and the sequel Rugrats In Paris The Movie in 2000. But what caused Nickelodeon to go downhill was when they had shows like All That "which is essentially Saturday Night Live for older kids" The Amanda Show and their start of sitcom obsessions with Kenan And Kel and Taina but today you'll notice that Nickelodeon has little success with sitcoms and aiming for a teen audience with shows like ICarly and Victorious but their biggest cartoon obsession is Spongebob Squarepants and I can't believe how many spin-off shows have come from Spongebob Squarepants looking at the Paramount+ Nickelodeon section. But what I think Nickelodeon needs is a Nickelodeon Movie Channel that would have all the movies that Nickelodeon shows and this would save Nickelodeon from going belly up

Movies airing on Nickelodeon has been spamming for few years, first started in 2022.

Nickelodeon nowadays hasn't been same for years, and even with last minute schedule changes, always going with more movies lately, even on weekends, as well as SpongeBob.

I think ever since Nickelodeon launched Nickelodeon Movies they had this lifelong dream that they wanted to make movies that everyone could like. Starting with Harriet The Spy Nickelodeon knew that Harriet The Spy would be their very first step into making Nickelodeon Movies successful. But it wasn't until Good Burger that Nickelodeon Movies became successful because they took a popular skit from All That like The Carol Burnett Show did with Mama's Family and just as Mama's Family worked for The Carol Burnett Show Good Burger worked for All That and Nickelodeon Movies because not only was Good Burger a hit people liked Good Burger because it was funny. Soon with movies like Nacho Libre Barnyard The Original Party Animals and the SpongeBob Squarepants The Movie series Nickelodeon Movies and Nickelodeon was on a roll. But what I think started Nickelodeon showing their own original TV movies was they were trying to copy Disney Channel's Original Movies and seeing how it worked for Disney Channel Nickelodeon thought they could try it too. And now it seems that Nickelodeon has made TV movies for Christmas and made a live-action series of Monster High movies based on the Monster High dolls and Nickelodeon just might make Disney Channel go belly up in the future with so many original TV movies. But what Nickelodeon could do is develop new original game shows and finally end Spongebob Squarepants and keep the spin-offs of Spongebob Squarepants on the air. Because it is shocking that Nickelodeon hasn't had any new game shows since the Liza Koshy Double Dare revival and the John Cena revival of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader got cancelled and they know game shows for kids are always a hit

The last game show so far was Tooned In. It hasn't aired since 2022. There are several episodes of season 2 left to air.

I think the biggest mistake Nickelodeon did "and this really ruined them for good was launching The-N "Now TeenNick" and when The-N was launched I think Nickelodeon was trying to attract the mature teen audience and teens aged 13 to 17 and by adding shows like Degrassi reruns of Daria sitcoms reruns of shows like Moesha and Saved By The Bell and developing their own sitcoms like Instant Star and drama shows like South Of Nowhere and Nickelodeon knew that The-N would be a success later on but I think what Nickelodeon was doing was trying to copy NBC with their teen channel just as NBC had done with their TNBC weekend lineup. And not only that is how and why Nickelodeon created Noggin when they already had Nick Jr. as part of their lineup in the 90's. But Nickelodeon has also turned Nick Jr. into the biggest channel for kids ages 3 to 6 by making hit shows reign supreme such as Paw Patrol Dora The Explorer "which recently got a new revival" Baby Shark and Blues Clues and what I can see is Nick Jr. is now the most successful network of young children second to Disney Junior and Universal Kids Network. But if Nickelodeon needs to keep surviving they should bring back the old format of Nickelodeon by having the sitcoms cartoons and possibly developing new game shows and they could make Nick At Nite be it's own channel like TV Land is

I also think what stopped Nickelodeon's interest in game shows was they took classic game shows and ruined them in new revivals. Take for example when Nickelodeon revived Double Dare and named it Double Dare 2000 it was supposed to be a new version of Double Dare but what I think ruined it and why it got low ratings was because of the absence of Marc Summers and announcer Harvey and sticking a guy named Jason Harris to replace Marc Summers and having announcer Tiffany Phillips replace Harvey lacked the charm and wit that the original Double Dare had. Another game show that was ruined was Nickelodeon Guts when it was revived in a family edition called My Family's Got Guts and that show was poorly done in my eyes. But I think Nickelodeon should do is develop new holiday movies because it seems that every Halloween and October they show the same Halloween movies from two years ago and now they're focusing on Halloween themed episodes of their sitcoms and cartoons. And the same thing is repeated at December and Christmas with the same holiday and Christmas movies and this is not a smart move for Nickelodeon to do in my eyes. I think in a few years Nickelodeon will no longer be known as Nickelodeon and transform themselves into Paramount Kids

Kids cable channels haven't been able to adapt to how kids now consume programs and entertainment. With social media, streaming, YouTube, etc these channels pretty much gave up and the parent companies have put their focus on the other medias available and used by kids. Actually many cable channels are in the same boat. How many are showing marathons of shows through out the day? Think The History Channel.

On the plus side Boomerang and Cartoon Network have been more adult focused since they probably see that adults, especially those who grew up on anything like the Flintstones to Dexter's Laboratory are the ones still watching. Even the new over the air sub channel, MeTv Toons came about because of this.

I think Nickelodeon needs to reinvent themselves with a new image and a new logo because I think Nickelodeon truly needs to get back to being a variety channel and not focus so much on cartoons and sitcoms. Because I think when Nickelodeon changed their logo this meant that they were changing their image and if they created a better logo they would've not been what they are today. I can blame Paramount+ for moving all the new Nickelodeon cartoons there and making the new seasons of the new cartoons Paramount+ exclusives. But it seems that Nickelodeon wants to copy Disney in becoming the number one channel and empire in the whole wide world by having theme parks and hotels and Nickelodeon wants to be happy doing this to keep them from going belly up

As for the Pick the President. Don't tell me that when you were in elementary/middle/high school they didn't do a mock election for President of the United States? If so then wow.

Rugrats didn't last as long as SpongeBob. SpongeBob and his gang are endearing characters. That's why the show has lasted as long as it has.

Another thing that Nickelodeon did that I don't know why they did it was launch odd shows like Weinerville and I don't know how Weinerville became a hit but when I first saw Weinerville the show was very weird and out of place and whoever created Weinerville had no clue what this show was gonna be about but for some reason Weinerville was a hit. Another show that was also odd was Kids Court and I don't know how Nickelodeon designed this show but it was odd to me and I guess they wanted to do a kids version of a court show in my eyes. But the biggest odd game show Nickelodeon did and I don't know why it was even considered a game show when it was actually a sweepstakes was Nickelodeon's Super Toy Run and when you see it this sweepstakes/game show was a ripoff of Supermarket Sweep but set in toy stores and i'm surprised that the creator of Supermarket Sweep didn't sue Nickelodeon for ripping off Supermarket Sweep to create this game show/sweepstakes. But in the sitcoms Nickelodeon still remains strong and it shocks that they seem to find virtually unknown celebrities and give the celebrities shows to get them fame. Take for instance they made stars like That Girl Lay Lay and Jojo Siwa very famous and the stars like Victoria Justice and Miranda Cogsgrove are forgotten about and another thing just like Disney Channel does with it's celebrities is get them a singing career. Like they made Victoria Justice sing when she did Victorious and when ICarly was launched Miranda Cogsgrove also launched a singing career too and then Nickelodeon tried to develop boy bands too with Big Time Rush and it seemed to work but for Nickelodeon taking celebrities and giving them their own shows and music careers is their key to success. But what I think Nickelodeon really needs is more successful game shows and more interesting sitcoms and make a separate channel for all the vintage Nickelodeon game shows and make Nick At Nite their own channel like they have with TV Land. And if Nick GAS was revived it would be a monster hit indeed

Another odd thing that Nickelodeon did in the 90's that really caused them to go downhill was develop The Big Help which supposedly was to teach kids about caring for others charity and saving the earth and when I watched Nickelodeon in the 90's I couldn't believe my eyes that Nickelodeon would do this and it sounded like Nickelodeon was trying to launch a charity with The Big Help and I don't know how it became successful but this was the beginning of their 90's image. What I think happened is that when the kids audience of Nickelodeon was growing into the older teen crowd and wanted to experiment with ways to appeal to the older teenage crowd. One thing that I had never figured out is during the 80's to the 90's Nickelodeon's weekday schedule was entirely devoted to Nick Jr. and what they should've made Nick Jr. it's own channel instead of having an entire weekday programming block devoted to Nick Jr. Which by the way how Nick Jr. got popular i'll never figure out?. Because when Nick Jr. debuted in the 80's I think they wanted to compete with PBS to have a line of programming aimed at children 3 to 6 years old. What made Nick Jr. popular was when they had shows like The Busy World Of Richard Scarry "which was the last show created by Richard Scarry before he died in 1995" David The Gnome Sharon Lois And Bram's Elephant Show but all the other cartoons that Nick Jr. had were English versions of French and Japanese cartoons and how this made Nick Jr. popular I can't understand. But when Blue's Clues debuted it became so popular but when Steve was replaced with Joe the show got more popular and spun-off a companion series called Blue's Room and it had a new image to Blue's Clues and for the very first time Blue actually talked in this series and Blue's Clues is still popular with the new series Blue's Clues and You. But when Dora The Explorer came out she got the same popularity as Blue's Clues and launched a spin-off series featuring her cousin Diego titled Go Diego Go which also became popular as well. And it goes to show that when Nickelodeon has popular shows these shows actually give Nickelodeon more popularity and ways to market and promote these shows to get more ratings appeal. And Nickelodeon should be proud of that instead of being afraid of going belly up

Another thing you'll notice is that each time Nickelodeon has it's Kids Choice Awards ever since Spongebob Squarepants debuted that cartoon was always the winner of the Favorite Cartoon award and each time a TV actor or actress won the Favorite TV Actor/Actress award it went to a Disney Channel star and it tells me that Nickelodeon really has serious competition with Disney Channel in terms of actors and actresses. And with Spongebob Squarepants winning the Favorite Cartoon award I think this started the downfall of the Kids Choice Awards and I think it has hurt Nickelodeon a lot that Disney Channel is superior to them. What I think Nickelodeon needs to do is create new original sitcoms bring back new game shows and revive Nick News with a new host because when they had sitcoms like Hey Dude Clarissa Explains It All Salute Your Shorts that was when Nickelodeon was great. But I think when they added sitcoms like My Brother And Me and Cousin Skeeter they were going downhill but it was Kenan And Kel that skyrocketed Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell to superstardom and if it weren't for them Good Burger wouldn't be a hit movie. But I really think Nickelodeon needs a new president who knows how to make it successful again
