In children's TV the 90's were known for some of the best programming for kids but if there ever was a children's show that was popular but was forgotten Zuxa is one of them. When it was announced that Xuxa would become popular in America and launch an English language version of her show for American audiences of children people were leery at first because after all Zuxa was popular in the Spanish market having a Spanish language version seen on Univision and how could this same format work in English in America? Fans questioned. And in the words of Star Trek's Mr. Spock it was "highly illogical' for an English version of a Brazilian/Spanish children's show to work in America and they hoped Xuxa would appeal to American children everywhere. To launch the series and promote it a sweepstakes was created in which children ages 6-12 had to answer questions that were multiple-choice questions testing kids knowledge of the upcoming Xuxa show and the winners recieved a Xuxa cassette player and runners-up received a Zuxa watch. And as the show got popular in English Zuxa knew she had scored a win with American kids everywhere and with her celebrity status in America blossoming her show was popular in America and children everywhere loved the songs the games and special guests. The show became so popular that in 1994 RoseArt launched a whole line of Xuxa dolls wearing outfits inspired by the show. Though it seemed odd that RoseArt "a company known for making art supplies" would have the rights to make the Xuxa dolls rather than Hasbro or Mattel. The Xuxa dolls came in three versions Superstar Zuxa Glitter Magic Xuxa and Surprise Xuxa and the Superstar Zuxa dolls came with a cassette single of her song Xuxa's Dance. I have all three of the Xuxa doll series and they were excellent dolls. Shortly after Xuxa left the air and got cancelled The Family Channel added reruns of Xuxa to it's kids morning lineup in 1994. But while we may never see Xuxa return to make another show for children in English Xuxa should've had more time and more episodes rather than getting cancelled

If you were a kid in the early '90s in the United States, you might remember a show called Xuxa. It was a bit strange and didn't last long. I always wondered about this show, and about Xuxa. So one day I decided to find out more, I ended up falling down a rabbit hole, resulting in this video.
