Tia Mowry Says she's No Longer "Close" with Tamera

Two of TV's most iconic sisters are no longer as close as they used to be behind the scenes.

In a new interview, former "Sister, Sister" star Tia Mowry says she now feels somewhat distant from her twin, Tamera Mowry-Housley. Tia says she feels that distance even more strongly given some recent big life changes, such as her 2022 divorce from Cory Hardrict after 14 years of marriage.

"It's times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her," Tia says in a new interview clip. "But that's just not where we are right now."




The clip is a sneak peek at Tia's upcoming show, "Tia Mowry: My Next Act". The show will explore a new chapter in Tia's life following her divorce and co-parenting her children with Hardrict.

"I came into this world with a twin and right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship so I have never been alone in my life," she says in the clip. "It has been quite a journey."

Tia Mowry Clarifies Comment about No Longer being "Close" with Twin Sister Tamera

Tia Mowry was quoted over the weekend as saying that she wished she and her twin sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, "were still close." After days of speculation, she'd like to explain exactly what she meant — and that it wasn't what it sounded like.

"I love my sister very much. She loves me very much," Mowry told Us Weekly on Tuesday. "We have a closeness and a beautiful connection. But that's what that was all about. It’s just how life unfolds, and it happens with many families."




In her magazine interview, Mowry expounded: "I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families and their children need to lean on them. We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities within our lives. That is what that was all about."

Part of the challenge is geographical. While Tia Mowry and her family live in Los Angeles, Tamera resides in Napa, Calif., with her husband Adam Housley and children Ariah, 9, and Aiden, 11.

"In these transitions in life, sometimes you just want a hug and you just want someone to be as accessible as they used to be, and that is not the case," Mowry said. "It's called life."
