Barbara on One Day At A Time worked at Quicky Burger. Julie worked at Arnies Diner. Also on that show were first season mentions (but never seen) of a place called The Escoffier Room.

Last night I saw the last few minutes of a Growing Pains with Mike working at World Of Burgers.

No, the fake diner was built specifically for "Boardwalk Empire" in the early 2010s.

As far as Groovie Smoothie, the "iCarly" place is not based on any real establishment. There a few places around the U.S. with that name, but they have nothing to do with the show.

I don't know where this "Funk E. Fester's" franchise is, but I know two things; 1)It's an obvious parody of "Chuck E. Cheese's." 2)There's a sign directing motorists to Interstate 295. There is no I-295 in Seattle, so this image had to be from the east coast. And to be honest, I don't believe this was taken from either Queens or the Bronx.

Just to note about Cheers, the original bar in Boston that the show was based on is still open. It was originally The Bull & Finch Pub and was renamed Cheers Beacon Hill.

After being shown on the series fans started showing up so the owner turned it into a functioning cafe and was open to customers when the series wasn't filming there. MacLaren's Pub from "How I Met Your Mother"

The fictional hang out spot from the show was inspired by McGee's Pub on 240 W 55th St, NYC.

Series creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays frequented McGee's when they wrote for "The Late Show with David Letterman" and it served as their initial blueprint for the bar when coming up with the sitcom.

McGee's Pub has a section on their menu called HIMYM Cocktails that are inspired from the show, such as "Barney's Blackout", "Gay Pirate", and "Ducky Tie".

The Emerald City Bar from "Grey's Anatomy" and "Station 19"

The Emerald City Bar, aka Joe's, is the frequent hang out spot of Grey Sloan Memorial's medical staff and the firefighters from SFD Station 19 as it's located across the street from the hospital.

The bar had a more prominent role during the show's earlier seasons as Steven W. Bailey, who played the owner, had a semi-recurring role on the show. Joe had a close relationship w/ the medical staff and they even helped him get a grant in order to pay for life-saving surgery.

Joe hasn't appeared onscreen since Season 7 back in 2010. Joe was one of those characters they just stopped writing for and it's assumed he is still "there" and just doesn't appear on screen or he moved on from the bar.

They filmed scenes at McMurphy's Restaurant & Tavern in Pasadena during "Grey's" Season 2 until they built a replica on set.

McMurphy's closed in 2011 and the place has since reopened as Der Wolf.

In the episode, the truck stop diner acts as a way station between this world and the next. A plain looking bus waits on stand-by to take those who are ready to move on.

Actress Marilyn Maxwell said she left the series because, "there was nothing for me to do put pour a second cup of coffee or point the way to the men's room."

"I thought the idea was to play the stories in and around the diner, so I would have things to do. But it got to be too limiting to have the characters in the drama arrive on the bus every time. The studio built a town around the bus stop and the stories began to get involved with the happenings of the town. That left Grace out in the cold, so I told them that I wanted to leave."
