View Full Version : 2003 gilligan fanatic 10-09-2002, 06:37 PM Will it be here in 2003 TJL 10-09-2002, 07:53 PM Good question. Well, there's been a lot of changes this season, some new cast members, new time slot... I guess we'll have to see if the ratings hold up. Personally, I think the show is pretty good this year. Drew said in a recent interview they're going to stop doing the "musical" shows and other stunt episodes and get back to the comedy, and I think they're doing okay so far. Pavan 10-09-2002, 08:09 PM The ratings are not good thus far this season. Rumor has it that Drew and Whose Line will move to 9 p.m. hour Fridays with Whose Line at 9 and Drew at 9:30. That Was Then could move to Mondays at 8 or just get axed. Pavan 10-10-2002, 02:49 PM It's official now, it is moving to Fridays starting Nov 8: ABC ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGES ¡°That Was Then¡± Goes on Immediate Broadcast Hiatus ¡°Push, Nevada¡± to Air Until October 24 ¡°The Drew Carey Show¡± and ¡°Whose Line is it Anyway?¡± Move to Fridays, as of November 8 ¡°Monk¡± Moves to Mondays as of November 18 In a move designed to strengthen the ABC Television Network¡¯s overall performance, Susan Lyne, president, ABC Entertainment, today announced several changes to the Network¡¯s lineup. As of this Friday, October 11, ¡°That Was Then¡± will be on broadcast hiatus, with ¡°America¡¯s Funniest Home Videos¡± airing from 8:00-10:00 p.m., October 11 and October 18, and an original Halloween-themed episode airing October 25 at 9:00 p.m. (preceded by Charlie Brown and Winnie the Pooh Halloween specials from 8:00-9:00 p.m.). As of November 8, ¡°The Drew Carey Show¡± moves to Fridays at 9:00 p.m., with ¡°Whose Line is it Anyway?¡± following at 9:30 p.m. ¡°We think Friday night presents a great opportunity for a strong comedy block,¡± stated Ms. Lyne. ¡°The pairing of ¡®Drew¡¯ and ¡®Whose Line¡¯ with ¡®Monday Night Football¡¯ made great sense from a demographic viewpoint, but clearance issues due to football really impacted their numbers. Drew has been such an important creative force on ABC -- we hope longtime fans of both his series will rediscover them on Friday nights.¡± ¡°Push, Nevada¡± will air until Thursday, October 24, culminating the critically-acclaimed series¡¯ run with the seventh episode. Viewers who have been playing along with the game that is woven into the weekly episodes will still have the chance to win the grand prize, in excess of one million dollars. Details will be announced shortly and revised rules will be posted on abc.com. On Thursday, October 31, from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC will broadcast the two-hour pilot of ¡°Monk.¡± Special programming will air in the 9:00 p.m. time period throughout November (additional information is forthcoming). ¡°Monk¡± will move to its new time slot, Mondays at 8:00 p.m., beginning November 18. ¡°Both ¡®That Was Then¡¯ and ¡®Push, Nevada¡¯ are creatively very strong, but we were simply unable to attract a mass audience for them,¡± added Ms. Lyne. ¡°We want viewers of ¡®Push¡¯ to see the outcome of Prufrock¡¯s investigation, and airing it through the seventh episode will give closure to the storyline. As for ¡®That Was Then,¡¯ it was a good show in a bad time period. We have six remaining episodes that we fully anticipate trying in a different time slot later on.¡± TJL 10-10-2002, 03:58 PM Well, i like that "Monk" is getting moved to a better night. I'm sure it will do better there than it did on Thursdays. Hopefully, the move to Fridays won't kill Drew. TJL 10-15-2002, 05:43 AM Quick question pavanbadal, Drew wasn't on last night, have they moved the show to Friday nights already? Pavan 10-15-2002, 09:52 AM Originally posted by TJL Quick question pavanbadal, Drew wasn't on last night, have they moved the show to Friday nights already? Last night was just a special report on the sniper killer, Drew and Whose Line will return next Monday. TJL 10-15-2002, 04:18 PM Ah, very good. Thanks for the heads up. Freakzilla 10-17-2002, 12:57 PM I know it's been stated before, but Drew Carey won't going off this year because the show is renewed through 2004. I believe it was also mentioned in the TV Guide cover story this week. In the article, it gives another reason why ABC won't dump Drew: That the network is so weak that despite the lowering ratings, they need to keep the show around because Drew is one of the few big stars they have. nimrod_86 11-15-2002, 05:20 PM Personallly, I think the show got terrible. It's just not what it used to be. With Winfred Louder getting shut down, and Mr. Wick becoming a janitor, i'm sorry but that's ridiculus. Also, I think Christa Miller's(Kate) idea to leave the show for Scrubs. The show started to suck as soon as Drew married Kate and Niki. The show needs to be cancelled, or something so it goes out with at least some dignity. Mr. Stefani 11-20-2002, 02:50 PM As much as I like this show, it really needs to end. Its gone way down hill, and i dont think it can be saved. Now that its at the new time-slot, its over. |
