I'm SO bummed! ABC has officially announced that they have cancelled Tim Daly's excellent series "EYES"....but yet they're keeping that awful "Jake" series with John Stamos!

ABC didn't give "Eyes" a chance.....I'm sure that a better time slot would have improved it's ratings.

Well, that's the SECOND "Wings" star to have an excellent, well-done dramatic series cancelled by ABC before it even had a chance to get its feet wet! (Remember Steven Weber's well-done dramatic series about the D.A. and Mayor last season?).

I think that perhaps fine series such as these belong on a "non-mainstream" network....the way that Tony Shaloub's "Monk" is on USA.

I'm very sorry that Tim and his "Eyes" series didn't make it on ABC.

ABC did the same thing with The Job. Gone after a couple of weeks, despite the fact that it was a terrific show. Luckily for Denis Leary's fans, he resurfaced with Rescue Me...on FX.

Yeah - really - they didn't even give it a chance. They put it up against wildly popular reality shows that were already mid-way thru their seasons so anyone involved in those (like me) didn't get much of a chance to watch it. If anything, I was hoping they'd rerun the episodes over the summer and then start with the new season in Sept.

Figures.

For all Eyes fans who havent done so, go to www.saveeyes.com and sign the petition for an attempt to save the show... or for ABC to air the final 8 episodes... also look at the website for other ways to save Eyes. Also, go to www.tvshowsondvd.com and vote for Eyes to be released on DVD. Even if your not a fan of Eyes... sign the petiton anyways.. it would be appriecated by all Eyes fans. Lets get this show back on the air.. or released on DVD. Thanks

It's aggravating that networks don't give good shows a chance these days. I know that money needs to be made off these shows, but at least give them more than a few weeks!! I hate to say it but if Wings were to premiere these days, I highly doubt it would last as long as it did.

For good or for bad, there is just so much competition these days (from cable in particular) that the networks have the idea that they can't be creative or give innovative shows much time to catch on.

I keep using the example of Denis Leary's "The Job." It was a GREAT show. Very creative, very innovative, very different. It was critically acclaimed yet ABC never gave it a chance. Leary took his concept and moved to FX where his new show "Rescue Me" is doing quite well. Its second season is being filmed right now.

But even cable makes mistakes. I'm still in mourning over the cancellation of "Dead Like Me." :(
