In all movie history we know that there is some good movies in the children's genre that get rave reviews but there always is some children's movies that were flops and failed that made you wonder why they bothered to make them and in this thread i'll talk about children's movies that were the worst in the world,
For me i'll start with Barney's Great Adventure from 1999 and I don't know why this movie was made. But it was sure hyped a lot from announcements in 1998 to a promotional float in the 1998 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that featured Barney singing a song from the movie. But even with that promotion you can see why Barney's Great Adventure flopped in theaters. I guess they wanted to make Barney a movie star with this movie but it failed
What do you consider the worst children's movie in the world?

Another children's movie that is also the worst movie made has to be Jonah A Veggietales Movie and I don't know why or how in the heck it became popular and score so much money in theaters when it came out. The Veggietales is one of the most popular franchises of Christian children's TV shows and videos but how Jonah A Veggietales Movie got so much hype i'll never understand. I guess the creator Phil Vischer wanted to see how well Veggietales movies would do in theaters but this movie became so popular it wasn't even funny

Another children's movie that I don't know how or why it was made would be The Adventures Of Pinocchio and I remember having the computer game of this movie that was cool because you could actually command the characters with your voice through a microphone installed in the computer. But how The Adventures Of Pinocchio became a hit is just odd because the movie itself lacked charm and the only reason it became a hit was because of Jonathan Taylor Thomas who provided Pinocchio's voice and also played him as a real boy. I also think Martin Landau might've played a factor on why this film did well

The other children's movie that I think was a worst idea that I don't know why they made it and this movie was probably made to make them more popular has to be Care Bears The Movie and I have no idea why they would make a movie on Care Bears? But Care Bears The Movie was unappealing and I can't imagine how this movie performed so well in theaters when it opened in 1984. Even having Mickey Rooney provide a voice in the movie didn't help it at all. But Carole King's wonderful end title song was the only saving grace. Also why this film was successful in theaters that they made Care Bears The Movie II and I think these films were made was to see Care Bears make their movie debut considering their cartoon show was popular at the time

What do you consider the worst children's movie in the world?

Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (1972), and you could also include the 1970 version of Thumbelina in this as they show the entire film when Santa tells kids the story.

Also:

Carnival Magic (1983), directed by exploitation legend Al Adamson (Blazing Stewardesses, Black Ceasar, Dracula vs Frankenstein)

Jimmy The Boy Wonder (1966), directed by HG Lewis (Blood Feast, Two Thousand Maniacs, The Gruesome Twosome)

Lewis also directed, well, basically filmed a really bad and boring children's play titled The Magic Land Of Mother Goose (1966), and that's exactly what you watch as if some parent filmed their kids school play.

The other children's movie that I consider the worst children's movie and "even though I am a fan of the toyline and this movie" is My Little Pony The Movie from 1986 and I don't know why this movie was made because My Little Pony The Movie is actually the sequel to the My Little Pony cartoon episode The End Of Flutter Valley and I remember when my teacher showed this movie to me and my classmates during Movie Day at our preschool and my teacher and I thought My Little Pony The Movie was cute. But in my eyes what really made this movie worse was that Danny DeVito provided the voice of the villain and I don't know how Danny DeVito got into My Little Pony The Movie in the first place but Danny seems out of place and also how Rhea Perlman provided a voice in My Little Pony The Movie i'll never know. But I had to have this movie since i'm a diehard My Little Pony fan since I was a little girl but i'm curious to know how this movie did in theaters when it first opened in 1986?

The other worst children's movie I would have to say was the worst has to be the movie Cats Don't Dance and I can't figure out why that movie became a hit but it seemed to be a likeable hit and having the voice of Jasmine Guy saved the film but I don't know why Cats Don't Dance became a hit in theaters? But in my eyes this movie was unappealing from the previews from day one

How the movie Twice Upon A Time became a hit when it debuted in 1983 is beyond me. Because this is also one of the worst children's movies made and when I saw parts of Twice Upon A Time it was odd with it's weird animation but how people consider this movie a hit i'll never figure out why

Another children's movie that I don't know why it was even made has to be Heathcliff The Movie and I don't know how Heathcliff The Movie came to be? Because if you watch Heathcliff The Movie it's basically a long episode of the Heathcliff cartoon and I guess DIC Entertainment wanted to see how successful an Heathcliff movie would be

Another movie that I don't know why Disney decided to make into a children's movie has to be The Country Bears. And how Disney turned a park attraction into a movie is weird? Because when I first saw the preview trailer for The Country Bears I knew it would fail because it reminded me of a Disney version of the movie Almost Famous with The Country Bears in it. You can see why this movie failed in theaters because this was an odd idea for a Disney movie based on a park attraction

Why Rainbow Brite was given a movie in the 80's i'll never know but Rainbow Brite And The Star Stealer is one of the worst children's movies. Because to me it looks like an episode of the Rainbow Brite cartoon series but longer and I don't know why in the first place this movie was even made. I guess they wanted to cash in on Rainbow Brite's popularity because Rainbow Brite was big in the 80's

The other children's movie that I can't figure out why they even made has to be We're Back A Dinosaur's Story and I didn't even know about this movie until I wore a sweatshirt of We're Back A Dinosaur's Story when I was a little girl and I can see why it failed because with the popularity of The Land Before Time movie series and kids obsessions with dinosaurs Universal Studios wanted to have their own dinosaur based movie and they thought they could do it with this movie but alas We're Back A Dinosaur's Story flopped in theaters

The children's film that I also consider the worst and I don't know why it was a good idea to make a sequel to All Dogs Go To Heaven was All Dogs Go To Heaven 2. And when I saw this sequel I was shocked they made this movie because in the original All Dogs Go To Heaven Charlie Barkin was dead at the end of the movie but in All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 Charlie is alive and is given the task to return Gabriel's horn to heaven and they seemed to recycle the original All Dogs Go To Heaven storyline but set it in San Francisco and put a character of a boy named David in place of the Anne-Marie character from All Dogs Go To Heaven and why Charlie Sheen replaced Burt Reynolds as Charlie Barkin's voice i'll never understand and why was Charlie Barkin given a new crush named Sasha when he had Flo the collie from All Dogs Go To Heaven? I think they replaced Burt Reynolds with Charlie Sheen as Charlie Barkin's voice was because Charlie Sheen shared the same name as Charlie Barkin and they picked him because of his namesake character. The only reason that drew me to this movie was I am a Sheena Easton fan and seeing her provide Sasha's voice was awesome but this movie added another All Dogs Go To Heaven movie called All Dogs Christmas Carol which also was the worst children's movie made too
