This morning I got to view the Netflix reboot of One Day At A Time and I can say that this is one sitcom that should've lasted longer and if you have seen the original 1970's version of One Day At A Time that was seen in reruns on FETV this version is more upbeat and clever. For one thing actress Justina Machado "who I only knew about from voicing a character in Disney's Elena Of Avalor" calls to mind the McKenzie Phillips character and Justina is excellent in the role. And Rita Moreno who is fabulous at 100 is terrific as the grandmother and brings a funny side to this reboot. While there isn't no Michael Lembeck like character like in the original One Day At A Time there is a Glenn Scarpelli like character recycled in this version. And a final thing about this reboot of One Day At A Time is that Gloria Estefan brings new life to the theme song by adding a tropical/salsa like flavor to it and since i'm a Gloria Estefan fan it was great having her being a part of One Day At A Time's reboot. Why Netflix pulled the plug on this reboot I'll never know because it's a cool sitcom
