When I was a kid watching the show back in the 70's, I thought Jack's character was nothing more than a grisled, cranky old man. Now that I'm all grown up and watching the reruns, I can see that Jack had alot of comic talent too, and was a real plus for the show! (he never gave me the HOTS like Freddie did, though!)LOL! Jack and Freddie were an awesome comedy team!

They were really a good team and when Scatman Crothers came out it was triple the fun............ Freddie & Ed were so funny. Chico tells ED - Vaya con Dios... Ed tells Chico - Chili con carne!

and in the new years eve show and scat is dressed in that plaid suit with the black wig It cracks me up when Ed says you look like king kongs elbow patch
