In 2006 NBC launched a cooking competition with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and TV favorites. The show's name was Celebrity Cooking Showdown and debuted in Spring of 2006 directly after Deal Or No Deal. Hosted by the late Alan Thicke Celebrity Cooking Showdown challenged celebrities as they cooked their favorite foods in a weekly format and the winner got a money prize for their charity. I didn't know that this show existed until I watched the end credits of a Deal Or No Deal episode and Alan Thicke came out to talk to Howie Mandel about his new show and Howie Mandel congratulated Alan on his new show. Celebrity Cooking Showdown aired for one season but I can't figure out why of all people Alan Thicke would host this show?
