We all know that we must learn different subjects in life and I bet when you were going to school or doing homework you or your teacher might've owned a set of the Encyclopedia Britannica while you went to school? Encyclopedia Britannica was all the rage during the 80's and 90's and when you see these commercials you'll understand why Encylopedia Britannica was better than traditional encyclopedias. The earlier 80's commercials had a jingle that was used from 1987 to 1989. But Encyclopedia Britannica commercials got smart when they added a special deal of Encyclopedia Britannica dictionaries and was a smart choice for buyers. Though they never bothered with celebrity endorsements though baseball player Pete Rose was a spokesman for a short time in 1981 Encyclopedia Britannica still was a top seller. I don't know if Encyclopedia Britannica is still selling today but they were helpful if you were doing homework for school during the 80's

I can honestly say that Encyclopedia Britannica was truly a useful tool if you needed help researching different subjects in school. I had never seen my teachers use Encyclopedia Britannica when I went to school because our class used The World Book as our encyclopedias during our study time at school. When I would see these commercials I thought they were cool and whenever you bought an Encylopedia Britannica set they would give you free gifts and that helped if you were going to college and you needed to bring some encyclopedias along to place in your dorm. I wonder why they stopped Encyclopedia Britannica and it's commercials and I wonder if a full set of these books are collector's items today?
