If anyone has any info, pleas epost it for two fellow members in need!!! TJL 10-06-2002, 10:53 PM My roommate is a NYU graduate. I will ask him for some of the criteria. But, just from what I know, I would say you would have to study really hard. So get cracking... ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 10-06-2002, 11:03 PM NYU...NYC..Dont rub it in!!:( Yeah..I told my Dad Id go to NYU just to LIVE in NYC. Ugh... TJL 10-08-2002, 07:55 PM Okay folks, as promised I asked my roommate the NYU grad, and he suggested going to the New York University website (www.nyu.edu) for some in depth details about admission. Good luck, young go-getters... Brian Damage 10-09-2002, 01:45 PM I'll tell you this, it is a fantastic University. I myself, have gone to NYU.(Although I didn't graduate.;)) It is a very difficult school to get into, but if you have the grades, it is well worth it. I'm thinking about going back to take a couple of courses myself. ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-09-2002, 04:07 PM Originally posted by briandamage I'll tell you this, it is a fantastic University. What kind of average do I need. i tried to find it on the site butI couldn't. Brian Damage 10-09-2002, 05:02 PM This may sound weird, but is it a high B or a low B? SAT scores also play a part of getting accepted. ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-09-2002, 05:54 PM Originally posted by briandamage This may sound weird, but is it a high B or a low B? We only have 4 classes a semester and we are getting a new report card soon. Brian Damage 10-09-2002, 07:05 PM Those grades will definitely help you to get in. Rockapella722 10-09-2002, 07:07 PM My future is BLEAK. Very bleak... UGH!!! TJL 10-09-2002, 07:38 PM Originally posted by Rockapella722 My future is BLEAK. Very bleak... UGH!!! That's the spirit! You should do well at NYU. ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-09-2002, 08:25 PM Originally posted by briandamage Those grades will definitely help you to get in. wahoo! If you don't mind me asking, what kind of grades did u have? Brian Damage 10-10-2002, 06:54 PM I had about the same grades as you, maybe I had another A thrown in there. If those grades have been consistent your entire high school career, you shouldn't have that much of a problem getting accepted. Dr. Lilith Sternin 10-10-2002, 09:51 PM NYU is SO political. My friend got straight A's, got a 1400 and something on his SATs and his VERY talented (auditioned for the Tisch school) yet STILL didn't get into the academic or Tisch. It's all about who you are, not always your talent or hard work. Sad to say, but true. Obviously not in all cases, but for the most part, it's who you know or social status. I'd still apply though, but I think the hype of NYU is just that -- a hype. If the school weren't in the dead of Manhattan, it would be out of business. ;) Of course, that's just my opinion from what I've viewed. Schools are very subjective anyway... there isn't a single school that everybody LOVES or everybody HATES. You're always gonna get 50/50 no matter what school it is. It's about you and your preferences. So, if you want it, go for it! You have just as good a shot as everyone else! Good luck! :-D Oh, yes... and if you ARE applying there, you don't have any shot if you get grades lower than B's. Just know even if you get straight A's, it's still a highly competitive school. I wish you the best of luck though! :-D Swimfan85 10-11-2002, 03:34 PM my bro is looking at colleges and we have all of these books so, when I find them I will give you some stats later, and his friend is there right now ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-11-2002, 04:11 PM [QUOTE]Originally posted by Dr. Lilith Sternin [B]NYU is SO political. I mean I am not related to anyone famous or anything- I'm average. GREAT :(. Now I know why Theo Huxtable got in, because he had RICH parents. I was always confussed by that because he was so dumb but got in. Swimfan85 10-11-2002, 04:20 PM Never say never, you can go anyone if you work hard enough!!!! ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-11-2002, 04:22 PM Originally posted by Swimfan85 Never say never, you can go anyone if you work hard enough!!!! yeah thanks I hope so... It's my #1 choice right now. :D Jersey Girl 10-11-2002, 04:49 PM I know some people who are attentding NYU...I'm looking up info about it in my college book.. Umm..it's pretty pricey-- 36 grand / year, even if you live in NY!! SAT....looks like a higher than 1300 combined about average...about 1340 it looks like GPA -- 3.0 or higher about 30% of applicants are accepted ~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-11-2002, 05:41 PM Originally posted by Jersey Girl I know some people who are attentding NYU...I'm looking up info about it in my college book.. I don't think I'll have a problem with the gpa, but the sat I'm not sure. Thats not good only 30% are accepted. Brian Damage 10-11-2002, 06:01 PM Who's to say you can't be a part of that 30%? Hey getting into any University isn't easy, it is a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck. I made it into NYU without having any connections or some rich, snobby parents. People that say those things are just bitter because they didn't get in and want some sort of excuse. Trust me, your grades are adequate. InspectorExstead 10-11-2002, 10:06 PM hey...if you all go to nyu, and i'm going to colombia, which isn't that far from nyu, then we can all see each other. of course, i'm assuming i get over a 10 on my sats...i'll forget my name and write "belinda melingitis." Jersey Girl 10-11-2002, 10:11 PM My dad went to Columbia!! just wanted to say that!!
