View Full Version : Things That Don't Make Sense about the Salem episodes

I really love the Salem episodes that kicked off season seven, but there are a few things about them which are puzzling:

1. Hepzibah implies that she'll be going to Salem to attend the Witches' Convocation, but after she leaves the Stephens house at the end of the season-opening two-parter, you never see her again. Where was she?

2. There didn't seem to be a lot of attendees at the convention, but where were other witches and warlocks we met along the way, such as George (from season one), Rollo (season four) and Norton (from season six)? Why weren't Uncle Arthur, Maurice or Dr Bombay there? Why was Esmeralda excused from attending?

3. Since the convention met in a "heavenly place" in the cosmos, why did they have to fly to Salem to attend it? Couldn't they have just popped into the convention from wherever they were in the world?

I get it...over-analyzing too much right? I suppose we never would have gotten those episodes if they hadn't set it there, but it's interesting to think about!

I love the Salem episodes, especially the real on-location scenes when the cast is not on the Columbia Ranch backlot.

Perhaps this was a special anniversary convention and that is why they sojourned to Salem to commemerate a special event.

Perhaps there were several events over the course of a few days and not all the witches attended all the events, explaining why so few are seen at any one time.
