I just read recently that Harrison Ford is too old to appear in the fifth film and in the meantime, Shia Labeouf retired from acting too quickly.

Does that means that the Fifth Indiana Jones will get dropped, rebooted or resumed?

I don't think a 5th Indiana Jones will happen.

So that means, it is dropped.

As a huge fan of Indiana Jones, I would LOVE to see a 5th. Indy movie happen.
George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford have all expressed interest in doing it and I hope that it will happen soon.

In fact, I read recently that as preparations have been made for "Star Wars Episode VII", Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were given trainers to help them get back into shape for their appearances in the movie. Harrison Ford was deemed to already be in good shape for his role as Han Solo.:) :cool: If he can still play Han Solo, he can still play Indiana Jones.
I think it's best, especially in Hollywood, to go with, "Never say 'never'." We'll just have to wait and see.;)

If you wanted to insist on the fifth one, then this fifth one should be the final. We have receive bad remarks from all Indiana Jones fans that the sequel is going down too quickly.

I kinda think it would be best to film one more and be done- but I have actually heard talk that Disney may want to film 2 more movies- but due to Ford's age, shoot them back to back so that they can be released in quick succession- that's certainly cool with me too. I'm one Indiana Jones fan that will happily take all the Indy movies with Harrison Ford in the title role that Disney wants to make.:) :cool:

last I heard that badly cooper was up for the role for Indiana Jones but I think it was just a rumor I don't think they can do it without Harrison forward did you know they wanted tom selleck not Harrison forward but he was doing Magnum, P.I.

I think the Indiana Jones film series has to stop right now because of these reasons:

1.) Harrison Ford and Karen Allen were getting too old to continue.

2.) Shia Labeouf had to automatically retire from acting in a hurry.

3.) Too many fans find the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull unpleasant.

4.) Nobody will succeed Harrison Ford at all.

1. Harrison Ford and Karen Allen are not too old as far as I'm concerned. As long as they're alive and kicking and are up to make Indiana Jones movies, I'm happy to see them. As I've said before, I think Disney would do well to make one more movie and leave it at that. As it is, I have heard that there is talk of doing two more back to back in order to get as much mileage out of it as they can. Fine with me.
2. I don't think Shia LaBeouf has seriously retired from acting. Has he actually stated that as his intention somewhere? He is still working as the executive producer for a documentary right now and set to appear in the movie "Fury" later this year.
In any case, he and the character of Mutt don't really need to appear in further Indiana Jones films. (I don't mind if he does, but the Indy movies can definitely continue without him showing up too.)
3. Unfortunately, a number of people didn't like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". I personally loved it!!!!!!! It was very exciting for me to see an Indiana Jones movie in theaters- and I thought it was well done and fits fine with the other three movies. (All four of which I have seen a number of times.) There have been numerous statements from Ford, Lucas and Spielberg- and possibly Disney as well- as to their desire to make more Indiana Jones movies- so I don't think the performance of the 4th. Indy movie will affect making more.

This movie was not a financial failure by any means- it was a huge success the world over!:) :cool:

4.I definitely agree on this point- no one can replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. (at least, not the adult Indy, aged anywhere from mid-30s to 80s)
That's why I said Disney should do the two more Indy movies if that's the plan and be done with it from there.

That could work, yes- I personally think Harrison Ford can still carry the movie on his own as Indy- that's the main character I want to see. I just think about how Sean Connery was Indiana Jones' father in the 3rd film...it can work on having Indiana Jones Jr. helping out his dad played by Harrison Ford, it can be set in the 60's when The Iron Curtain is at its height.

Hmm- I might could see the 1960s... it seems hard to think of Indy during the '60s, but yes, it could work. Perhaps it could be set in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis- that might be interesting.
