Back when either the Winter Olympics or Summer Olympics would be airing you used to be able to see Olympics themed commercials throughout the time the Olympics would air and they used to be like Super Bowl commercials. But now it seems that Olympics commercials are scarce now and I can't figure that out. Take for instance I remember when McDonald's used to be king of the Olympics and they would have the athletes such as Mary Lou Retton do McDonald's Olympics commercials in the 80's and McDonald's was Olympics obsessed until the 2000's and Hershey's also did Olympics commercials a lot. But now the only Olympics commercials that they have today seem to focus on medicines like Tylenol and car commercials promoting the Olympics but you don't see stores promoting Olympics merchandise in commercials and it tells me that the Olympics commercials have lost interest to fans. And even Nintendo had Olympics themed commercials to promote video games that were Olympics themed. So I think this is why commercials during popular sporting events started going downhill beginning with Super Bowl commercials and the Olympics followed suit later
