I learned that Donna Summer got inspired to write She Works Hard For The Money after she worked as a waitress in a diner and I would like to know if it is true. From what I learned about the song the waitress is named Onetta and Onetta herself can be seen in the photo on the back of the lyric book of the She Works Hard For The Money album. What diner did Donna Summer work in? Because some music magazines say the diner's name was Chasen's. It was because of this album I decided to dress up as a diner waitress for Halloween and my outfit was just like Donna Summer's waitress uniform

I remember her saying that she was in a ladies' room that was being taken care of by a frazzled ladies' room attendant, and she said of the attendant, Wow, she works hard for the money," and she wrote the song around that.

I remember when She Works Hard For The Money became the anthem of the 80's because of it's message and it was played everywhere and even Del Monte used She Works Hard For The Money as a slogan during their 80's commercials and even today that song has a powerful message that everyone can relate to. It also became one of the famous songs that Christian singer Michael Omartian co-wrote with Donna Summer that made Michael a huge writer of pop songs after cowriting songs for Diana Ross and Christopher Cross
