So the shirt in bottom picture is made out of the napkin in the upper one?

Paul Lynde was a great - a character actor who grew beyond that to be a star.

Only Alan Brady's Hair would have noticed that......... LOL

Paul was always historical to be around..... that shot of him and I was taken backstage during his PAUL LYNDE stage show tour in 1976 at the Valley Forge Music Fair (Theatre in the Round) which is no longer there.... it's a shopping center now.....

He was a great "Character Actor" in Bewitched, I Dream of Jeanne, Munsters and a few other sitcoms.... but will always be best know as that CENTER SQUARE!

I liked him as Uncle Arthur and I remember him playing a doctor on the Munsters I think? And Hollywood squares wouldn't be the same without him. He was a funny man! He also guest starred on Gidget as the father of one of Gidget's friends. One of the funniest Gidget eps.! :D

If there ever was a movie called The Paul Lynde Story, I wouldn't mind playing the role of Paul Lynde...I can imitate his voice, maybe one day I'll record it, put it on soundcloud, and post it here...if that's okay!

Paul Lynde, what a character and by that I mean what a Great character. I consider The Hollywood Squares when Peter Marshall hosted it one of the best games shows ever made. Paul Lynde's answers which often had double and even triple meanings were so funny. He also always was a great guest star on any show he appeared on.

I've never seen his Hollywood Squares, the only version that's aired since I got cable is the Tom Bergeron one. Paul was great on Bewitched, both as Uncle Arthur and the driving instructor guest spot.

Paul was one of the best. Hollywood Squares won't had been as good without the famous "Center Square".....(I think Wally Cox had that place on the squares until he died.)

Make sure to get a copy of the BOOK.... it's awesome!

That was a promo shot that Paul sent me from the 2,000th taping of the show...

I've been a fan of Paul's since his Bewitched days and he was always hilarious on Hollywood squares.

I remember Wally Cox being in the top left square with Rose Marie in the top right, Charley Weaver, bottom left, George Gobel, bottom right and of course Paul in the middle.

See if you can name them all!!!

I recognize 9:

Charley Weaver
Rose Marie
George Gobel
John Davidson
Kent McCord
Peter Marshall
Vincent Price
Paul Lynde
Sandy Duncan

Not sure about the first woman in front but she looks like Ruta Lee.

since you knew him I was wondering what you thought of the other bio that was written about him titled center square? I thought it was ok but that the people who wrote it seemed more interested in exploring his shortcomings rather than giving us fans a more balanced picture of him

EXACTLY!!!

I did get a copy of that book..... read a few chapters and threw it out....
the author of that book did not know PAUL.... and you are correct.... they knew that the "DIRT" is what sells book most of the times..... so, that book is more on the "dirt" and less on the real Paul.... YES, he had alot of "dirt" around him, but he also had a cool side too..... and that is what comes out in this new book written by a friend on mine and Paul's...... I highly reccomend it to anyone who is a TRUE fan of Paul Lynde the entertainer.....
