For you men, did you get hit in the mouth growing up?

I was hit in the head only once that I can recall, I was 10 or so. And it was someone who usually was my friend. He was a neighbor several houses down, one year older than me. We argued something I can't recall at all, and he swung and hit me in the nose. He was wearing a ring on that hand, and immediately I had blood coming down on my face.

This happened in a field across the street; so the idea then was, I would get right home and down to the basement laundry tub to wash off the blood before my mom saw me. I don't remember if she did; she was upstairs, and my brother (bystander) may have created a diversion for me - so she wouldn't notice me sneaking into the house...!
