CBS could be reviving gameshow classics “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Dating Game.”
Eye will shoot an in-house pilot for “Deal” at the end of May that won’t air but will viewed by execs to see how it plays. There’s no host yet but those discussions will occur if the project goes forward.

Network is looking to fill its daytime slot with the departure of long-running sudser “Guiding Light.” CBS announced in April that the series would end its 72-year run on Sept. 18.

The original “Let’s Make a Deal” was emceed by Monty Hall and launched in 1963 as members of the studio audience would dress in costume and hope to be picked to participate in games and win and prizes. The Hall-hosted version ran until 1991 and ran on both ABC and NBC.

NBC ran a daytime version of the show from 1990-91 and “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush hosted for a short time in 2003.

“The Dating Game,” where a bachelor or bachelorette asks three members of the opposite sex questions without seeing their faces, isn’t as far along as “Deal” and discussions are ongoing.

The original “Dating Game” was created by Chuck Barris and ran from 1965-1980 on both ABC primetime and daytime. Many syndicated versions of the show aired in the 1970’s and ‘80s.

^PYL WAS Revived, it was called "Whammy"!

Do you think they'll get Drew Carey to host one of them? (Because I could see him do "Let's Make A Deal").
