Wow. I don't watch shows like that, but that might worth being seen!!! (That didn't really make sense...the wording, but)

Thought I saw an article that said they didn't want to use her, instead going with some celebrity with a heart condition (forget who). But this is good news. I don't really watch it, but hope our "Phyllis" does well!

The way she used to flit around Mary's apartment, she probably had some dance training.
I won't watch, but will be pulling for Cloris and hope somebody will keep us up to date.

Speaking of Cloris, I heard somewhere that she was the star of a recent roast, taking some tough shots but giving a lot out, too. What a saucy lady!

^ I DO know for sure that Valerie guested on the first season of the Muppet Show - and was hilarious! The first season is on DVD, as is the second season, which boasted both Cloris Leachman and Nancy Walker (Ida Morgenstern) as guests. :cool:

EDIT: Though, apparently, the judges' scores don't seem to indicate that. What I don't understand is that they seemed to have such glowing words about her just after the dance! (I have never really watched the program regularly, and didn't see the whole thing today. So I don't know if they're nicer before giving the scores in general) Hopefully she'll get enough viewer support, maybe from some of us MTM fans????

This might be the one DWTS I'm really interested in, Cloris of course, but I rather like Misty May as well, having watched the Olympics this past summer.

I can't check out the video until I get into work tomorrow (I still don't have high speed internet), but I'd guess it's that she's 82 and just couldn't do as much as some of the other contestants.
But God bless her for trying, and I'm sure the judges had that same feeling during their earlier comments!

Actually the judges gave pretty low scores to everyone and Cloris' score was pretty average. I think the lowest score was 11 or 12 and the highest score was 20 or 21. The first week most of the performances aren't that good because well...it's the first week. With the schtick after her dance, it'd be really surprised if Cloris was voted off.

The censors will be on alert at all times with Cloris. She is one controversial woman!

That article really didn't make her look good. I read it before I saw this clip and I have to say that I think the article is way off base! And so are the judges. Give her a break! She's an actress! That's the whole point of the show! To have non-dancers/celebrites dancing!

I know what you mean. If the YouTube clip is the same one I was using, there were some comments that were down on her. I dunno, I guess that sort of thing tends to affect my thoughts a bit more than others, and thus serve as a killjoy to me. While otherwise, I've been very entertained by Cloris' appearances, of course! And as for her actual dancing, I can't complain...I didn't see anything glaring that made me think she was doing a bad job.

EXACTLY!! I thought it was kinda not nice to give her a 16 last night because shes 82, and she did pretty good for being 82!! Plus, she's comedic relief. And she did pretty good with the mutiple shenae turns. She was a good spotter too. That's hard. GO CLORIS!!!!!!

Yeah. As I noted above, I get down when I read DWTS watchers' comments and them saying how Cloris takes away from the show and how she's annoying, etc. etc. I've had lots of fun seeing her on the program! And at least she's acting like that out of fun, and not for any other reasons like certain other stars have in recent years.

We may have different opinions because I am not a religious DWTS fan though and don't have an idea of what the show is "supposed" to be. Am I wrong to root for Cloris and to be amused by her antics? Who knows??? Still I feel bad somehow when someone says something bad about someone or something I like. (It happened again this week with someone criticizing how Mary looked at the Emmys)

But TV is supposed to be entertaining, and Cloris has been entertaining me a lot! So job done! Also, did anyone catch on to what I mentioned about her appearance on Tuesday? ;-)

Well it looks like the guy's DWTS clips got pulled from YouTube, so I won't hold my breath waiting for the latest show's clips. I only saw the end with Cloris getting another 16 (and in a nice pink outfit AND another Phyllis-like extension) and the nice sendoff to Misty (sad about her injury). What did she do this week? :-)

Cloris and Corky did the Jive. It was hilarious. I'm not really sure how to describe it because it was crazy, but i'm sure it will end up on youtube or they'll show clips of it tomorrow. The judges were actually pretty nice to her in their comments, but that didn't really show in the score. Cloris got them back by asking why do the judges scores matter if the audience votes. I'm still hoping she'll be back next week. She's the only entertaining part of that show!

Actually, I think that was her real hair (as Phyllis).

Cloris' dancing tonight was AMAZING. She definitely proved the judges wrong with her ability. Her score was a 22 - quite a jump from last weeks 16. Hopefully a video will be posted soon for those who missed it. Vote for Clorky!

She sure has an incredible sense of humor and fun at 82. :D

She does and always has. She got like a 22 this past week the best score she's gotten above 16 I think!! GREAT JOB!! Though I did like the Viennesse Something or other it was fun!!

Yeah. I think it was time though. It was getting to the point where it was obvious that the other dancers were a lot better than her. I watched Cloris on Jimmy Kimmel last night and she seemed to be kinda mad about it. Maybe she'll show up next week and both Tom Bergeron some more :D

As much as I love Cloris and loved her on the show this season, it really was time for her to go. It should be interesting to see if she still shows up. :lol:

Well it's all over now...and Brooke might have won, but we know who we're likely to remember the most! I didn't see the program, but did catch the right moment when I got home from work...am I right that Cloris' appearance was live? If so that's good because it means she's feeling better from her health scare last week.
