"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is released across the US from August 5th.

Set in present day San Francisco, the film deals with the aftermath of genetic engineering experiments that lead to intelligence in apes and a war for supremacy.

I HATE when the trailer gives away the entire plot!

;)

It can't be any worse than the Tim Burton flick...Could it?

I have more hope for this one than Burtons awful remake. I liked Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, so I'm interested to see how they update the material.

I'm with you, I am a big fan of the original "Apes" franchise, and I hope they do the original justice. The good thing is, aside from James Franco, there really isn't any big blockbuster names that may distract from the film.

Sigh...I guess we're never going to see a close adaptation of Pierre Boulle's novel...I love the original Planet Of The Apes, but they had to make several changes do to budget constraints, Burton's missed the opportunity, and now this.

Yeah, that Burton movie is the only one of his that I don't like.
