I just watched the newer version on HBO. Does anyone know if they are making a second one? It ended like it would be continued, but its been 2 years since it was released...

View Full Version : Planet Of The Apes Mr. Stefani 01-06-2003, 08:21 PM I just watched the newer version on HBO. Does anyone know if they are making a second one? It ended like it would be continued, but its been 2 years since it was released... Brian Damage 01-06-2003, 08:23 PM There was a talk of a sequel, but that was last year. I don't know if there is still intrest. TJL 01-06-2003, 08:27 PM Doubtful. It wasn't the hit they expected it to be, plus alot of folks thought a remake of this sci fi classic was not the best idea. So I don't see a sequel in the future. Brian Damage 01-06-2003, 08:30 PM Beneath the Planet of the Apes was the best Planet sequel. DarleneIllyria 01-06-2003, 08:38 PM I want to see the old version. I keep looking for it on tv, but it never comes on. Guess I'll have to go rent the movie. Brian Damage 01-06-2003, 08:40 PM Originally posted by Jenny I want to see the old version. DarleneIllyria 01-06-2003, 08:51 PM Originally posted by Brian Damage They show it alot on HBO Family. I don't get that station. :( I was hoping it would come on TCM or AMC or some channel like that. Mr. Stefani 01-06-2003, 10:18 PM I actually liked it. Maybe because I never saw the orginal version. The director said it wasn't a remake, it was his own perception of the book. Thats probably why fans of the org version hated it. I want to see the old version. I keep looking for it on tv, but it never comes on. Guess I'll have to go rent the movie. The org. one(s?) are on the Fox Movie Channel all this month. Brian Damage 01-07-2003, 06:05 PM Originally posted by timmy087 The org. one(s?) are on the Fox Movie Channel all this month. Are you kidding me?!? All of them?!? I'm dying to see Beneath the Planet of the Apes again! Brian Damage 01-07-2003, 06:08 PM Originally posted by timmy087 I actually liked it. I've seen the original version several times and have seen the new version. It is definitely different from eachother. However, I don't hate the new movie, I just think the original is better. Central Perk 01-07-2003, 06:25 PM I thought the remake was pretty good..I actually found it quite funny at times. I haven't seen the original. Mr. Stefani 01-07-2003, 09:48 PM Are you kidding me?!? Beneath the Planet of the Apes is on(these are Eastern times) 1/9/2003 10:01PM 1/12/2003 12:01PM 1/13/2003 2:01AM a few other ones are on this month too: "Farewell to the Planet of the Apes " "Escape From the Planet of the Apes "...Are those all movies? TJL 01-07-2003, 10:04 PM The Best POTA sequel was "Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes." In a future society (the 80's I think) apes are now the domsetic slaves of the human race. One intelligent chimp (Roddy McDowell) leads a revolt that could change the world as we know it! Oooooh, scary! ;) DarleneIllyria 01-07-2003, 10:10 PM Originally posted by timmy087 The org. one(s?) are on the Fox Movie Channel all this month. I don't get that station either. I get FX and the plain Fox station. Say, by any chance do you think they'll ever come on a sports channel or a food channel? I got those channels coming out of my ears. You guys need to see some of the stations I get. You got your home shopping networks, your food networks, spanish channels, sports channels and a bunch of other crap. The only good thing I get is TVL. I'm surprised I even get that station.
