I went to Nathan's in Coney Island yesterday for the annual hot dog contest.

People sometimes ask me if I ever went to it because I grew up a couple of miles from Coney Island.

Not a chance. :lol:

I went to Arby's in Middle Village, Queens and this location was where Niederstein’s used to be. It was Queens' oldest restaurant having opened in 1863 and was closed in 2005.

The Arby's pays homage to the former restaurant with artwork and its stained glass windows.

No, those are two separate businesses. Umbertos in Little Italy has no apostrophe in their name as the other one, Umberto’s, does.

They are only that one location whereas Umberto’s is in Bellmore, New Hyde Park, Massapequa Park, and a couple of other spots.

I went to the Richmond County Fair over Labor Day weekend and stopped by the Eggers Ice Cream Parlor. They had a sign outside that they are closing this location at the end of the month after 7 years there.

I talked with an employee about it and he was telling me that the building isn't actually a "real building", it was a prop that was erected for the HBO show "Boardwalk Empire". They are a historical landmark so new buildings cannot be built there. For some reason the lease was not renewed for Eggers and the demolition of the building is pending.

You can still see the "Good Food Served" sign on top.

I tirred some of the pasta salad they had out there and it tasted like crap.. Like they had it flooded with vinegar or something..... I didnt like it really......

Thier Sweet and Sour sauce now has XANTHAM GUM in it.....I dont think it used to. I try to avoid that as it causes me issues alot of times.......

I dont think Wendys has it as thier sweet and sour sauce is thinner and tastes better to be honest,I guess ill only be eating them there if I want them now......

I just put Catchup on my nuggets.. Last time I went to BK thier SS sauce didnt have Xantham gum....... (Mcdonalds has it for years :()

I bought some ORGANIC MAC AND CHEESE the other day at target (One I hadnt tried before) and it has LACTIC ACID in it!!!!!!! (I didnt see it at the store) -- I threw it in the bin in disgust!

LACTIC ACID IS GARBAGE AND SHOULDNT BE IN OUR FOOD!!! (It makes my throat not feel good (It burns)) -- I have enough problems as it is!!

That's right across the street from Pastosa. I've never been there, but your picture looks good. Occasionally, I still go back to Pastosa early on a Saturday or Sunday morning and load up for the week. It's a hike for me, but weekend morning traffic usually isn't too bad.

They recently opened and I’ve been meaning to go there. I don’t know how long their sign was up, but I saw it since last summer.

The burger was great, but I didn’t really care for the fries as I don’t like them in that flat potato chip style. It’s mainly for take-out as they only have a few seats along the windows. Those tall chairs which I find uncomfortable.

I ate at a local restaurant Hall's Gas House. They have an amazing deal on Thursday lunch specials for just $15. Four good sized pieces of brisket with crispy ground up onion strips on top (don't like regular onions but this kind is good), a bowl of gumbo, plus sides of macaroni and cheese and BBQ pit beans. Also, breadsticks come with any meal.
