Tracy,

This is sort of off-topic, but I remember a Dinah Shore show after Freddie died. Geraldo Rivera and Michael Landon were among the guests and they spent quite a bit of time talking about Freddie.

Dinah said, "that baby (Freddie Jr) is going to grow up saying, 'My father left me. Why did my father leave me?"

And Michael Landon accused Hollywood people of "cow-towning" and saying that Freddie is really where he wanted to be, etc.

Geraldo gave some info on what occurred the night Freddie shot himself. Supposedly he was looking in the mirror...but Geraldo is known for his innaccuracies (and his own self-promotion) so I don't know that he really had the right information.

Interestingly, Kathy Prinze and Freddie's mother wrote in the book that Tony and Freddie were not really great friends. They said that Tony never visited Freddie when he was depressed. And they accused Tony Orlando of using Freddie's death to promote himself. They cited an Enquirer article where Tony claims that Freddie died in his arms. They said this was total fabrication.

Croiter I had seen this on the "E" bio. of Freddie. Kathy said that it was total fabrication that Tony & Freddie were the best of friends. I don't know what to believe anymore because I lived in that era and I would see them together alot..... They even went out with their significant others. (double dating). Tony Orlando said he took time off of his career because of what happened to Freddie he was also high alot at that time.

I had read yrs ago that Tony Orlando & Freddie were very close & went out alot with their wives together. I also read Orlando was devastated when Freddie died & it caused him to go into depression & problems & that's why you didn't hear of him for along time...
