Did you watch the 48 Hours Mystery on CBS last night? Anytime anything new is talked abt the Green Beret/Jefferey McDonald Murder Case, I am right there watching.
I could not believe that in fact evidence was being hidden by THE GOVERNMENT. When they say the GOVERNMENT, who exactly is being referred to? The FBI? The Military officials? Both? The entire federal government? Anyhow, I am beginning to smell a rat and have some sort of change of heart on this case.

I recorded the broadcast on Saturday night while I went out and I'll look at it sometime tonight. Sounds interesting.

yes, it is interesting. hope you find it very interesting. And I a all gung ho that he is guilty...but after watching this episode, I am having doubts. BUT!! only if the evidence is in fact true evidence and it was in fact being hidden. I would hate to think that this is "manufactured" evidence.

I'm sorry I missed it. I've followed that case for years. Fatal Vision was a good book on the subject.

That sounded like it was handled by a bunch of morons.
However, I don't think we'll ever know the truth for sure. I even kept flip-flopping my decision during the show. I ended up not sure what happened.
I would have liked to have known how, if that part is true, that hippie girl and her gang even got onto the base. Did she use her father's credentials to get on or did they sneak in?

You know I read the book over and over, and for the life of me, i can't recall if that was even looked into to (Helena Stokely and her friends). We have two military bases here, and of course since 9/11 they are strict, but back in the dayz, a friend of mine and her mother had access to the base because her dad was in the service. It just seems how could one just walk in?
As for the bungled job, this case was so bungled, that they now reference this case in law books and criminal studies in college as a 'textbook case of NOT how to handle a crime scene'. So sad.
