I have always wanted to know more about the TV production company Gracie Films and I have seen their familiar shushing logo at the end of every The Simpsons episode and I would like to know how Gracie Films got started and what other sitcoms and shows did they produce before becoming well-known for producing The Simpsons? Before The Simpsons I never even heard about Gracie Films and how did they also come up with their famous shushing logo too?

James L. Brooks, who had previously founded John Charles Walters Company, founded Gracie Films at 20th Century Fox in 1986, with Polly Platt as executive vice president. Named for comedian Gracie Allen, the company was established to "provide real writers with a vehicle to get their movies made".
