I have a copy of the Mike Douglas Show that I bought a few years ago. It was circa 1974 or so. Two things struck me about that tape. One, Freddie is chain-smoking the whole time that he was on the panel. I forgot that everyone smoked so much back then! Secondly, there is a belly-dance segment with comedian George Kirby, Mike, and a professional belly dancer. George and Mike got into the spirit of things, by appearing in vests with no shirts on so the audience could see their respective bellies....but not Freddie! He got up and did the moves with the everyone, but would not take off his T-shirt. He said something to the effect of "You're not getting me to do that (taking off his shirt).Waaaaah, I wanna see your chest, darling!

I didn't even know he smoked. I learned something new about Freddie.
