The 6ABC Action News theme unlocks memories, and pride, in Philadelphia

Fans of Action News have helped to make our theme music very memorable. We often hear people sing or play it when we are out in the community. On September 20th, 1996 we changed that iconic song. It’s called "Move Closer To Your World, My Friend" and a plan was hatched to mix a different version of the music, and we heard loudly from “you” the public. Now you can watch a documentary about what happened. It takes you inside 6abc and the decisions made regarding the music change.

I remember when KTVU (now FOX 2) used this song in their ads in the early-70s.
