At the time The Simpsons started to really take off in the 90's The Simpsons merchandise was just beginning to get popular and with video games becoming hot The Simpsons indeed started getting into video games too. In 1990 we saw the very first The Simpsons video game which was a coin operated arcade game and it had a simple storyline of having The Simpsons characters trying to rescue Maggie from robbers. Based on that game alone who knew that The Simpsons video games would become popular. That same year Acclaim Entertainment debuted Bart Vs The Space Mutants for the NES Game Gear and Sega Genesis and that game is a lot of fun but hard but it's one of the best The Simpsons games ever made for the NES. Based on the success of Bart Vs The Space Mutants they also debuted Bart's Nightmare Bart Vs The World and Virtual Bart for the Sega Genesis. In 1993 the only The Simpsons game to feature a different character other than Bart Homer Marge and Lisa followed in Krusty's Fun House/Super Fun House which featured Krusty The Clown needing your help to get rid of annoying rats who invade his fun house and this game is loads of fun to play. The Simpsons branched out into PC games with Virtual Springfield and later with The Simpsons Hit And Run game. The Simpsons video games also made it to Nintendo Gameboy Color and Advance with The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror and The Simpsons Road Rage which also had a Playstation version released too. Of all the video games of The Simpsons Road Rage is the weakest link although it is fun I think they ripped off Crazy Taxi. But when The Simpsons Movie was announced a The Simpsons Game released for both Playstation and Nintendo DS and the game was a smash hit when it debuted. So why do people like The Simpsons video games? Because they are fun and I myself have The Simpsons video games as well
