Martin Mull was also best known for being the spokesman for the Red Roof Inn motel chain in the 90's and I remember him promoting Red Roof Inn because when my family stayed at one on vacation and Martin Mull narrated the Red Roof Inn hotel info channel guide on their room TVs and I think he was trying to be like Tom Bodett was to Motel 6. Martin Mull also appeared in Pizza Hut commercials too

He was hilarious as wife beater Garth Gimble on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and later as his twin brother Barth, the same character he portrayed on Fernwood 2 Night. He was introduced by Jerry Hubbard, played by his long time collaborator Fred Willard as "Your host and mine."

Mull would play many other roles, including a retirement home resident in the Fox sitcom The Cool Kids. He was also an accomplished painter and recorded a number of comedy records, some of them were played on Dr. Demento. May he rest in peace.

Sad to hear this. A distinct actor that always made a good impression.
I remeber him fondly from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Arrested Development and especially my favorite show ever: Roseanne.
