Hey there--first of all, thanx for toning down the all-capital-letters thing. We had another person awhile back do that and it bothered some of us.
Second, I was wondering why you take such a dim view of Kathy (or Freddie's manager who was there when he shot himself--I understand he was far enough away in a big hotel suite when Freddie pulled the gun that he couldn't get to him in time.) I don't know much about her, but you used the word "tramp" in another message. Some have also said she was a prostitute when they met. Even if she was, at the time of Freddie's death she had been his wife and the mother of his son--seems like she had tried to turn her life and his around, and maybe the restraining order was to protect Jr.? Addicts can get violent even against people they love, I suppose. I'm looking forward to the time when "The E! True Hollywood Story" about Freddie is repeated--maybe then I can get to know more about all this!

I agree. I know it's overused but the old indian saying, "Do not judge a man until you've walked a mile in his moccasins" seems to apply here. I wasn't there. But I have had to council(sp)( it's too early in the morning) friends who lived with addicts. It ain' easy.

Thanx Luckymama! I've always loved that saying, and yes it is very appropriate in Freddie and Kathy's case. I can't imagine what she went through--I know I would have crumbled!

Kathy is a beautiful, intelligent lady and the mother of Freddie's son, and I'm sure Freddie loved her very much. I'm sure Freddie would not like us to talk about his wife or family in a negative way.

Well, I respect Kathy and she really did a wonderful job with Freddie Jr. I mentioned that she might've been a prostitute because I read it somewhere. I applaud Kathy for taking such good care of Freddie Jr. Living with an addict is not an easy thing. Living with an alcoholic is not easy too. Somehow I wish somebody would've taken Freddie to a mental institution or hospital & tied his butt down! Leave him there for days on end. He needed some kind of intervention.... What happened to his friends? Were they all "so scared"? Alot of people were catering to his every whim. Giving him what he wanted.... Even fans were sending him drugs. C'mon! The reason why Freddie got worse & worse is because he also could afford the drugs at the time too.

Everybody's making great points! However, I posted this topic because I was curious about Tracy' negative take on Kathy. Tracy, I know you're out there! Do you know something the rest of us don't?

i lived in hollywood most of my life. my mother was 1 year younger than freddie sr.
in the los angeles area our news, tv. and radio report things that may not have reached other cities or states. kathy married the superstar, the millionaire, the hottest catch in hollywood. when freddie called her saying that he was ending his life, did kathy do anything to help:call 911, what did she say to him???. she could have told him anything he wanted to hear like okay i called the attorney yesterday not to file the divorce papers, let's get back together and raise our son together (that kind of a thing). that was all she had to do was keep talking to him like that until she was able to convince him that everything was okay.then get him to a hospital. freddie wasn't allowed to see his son that bothered him. she could have let him see his child with a officer of the court if it was that bad. all the pictures i have seen of kathy she was always having her body on tony and tony's wife at the time was not happy about it. now to the manager,a confused freddie called him that night. so his manager came over and sat beside a confused freddie while freddie was on the phone telling everyone he was ending his life. this went on until about 2:00am that morning then freddie pulled the trigger then his manager decides to get to freddie after the damage was done. there was plenty of time to save his life. isaac ruiz saw him the day before and barely able to work and he also knew freddie needed help and did nothing. freddie's life was in everyone's hands that knew and could see he needed help. in freddie's suicide letter stated "martin synder was here". freddie did not know kathy he just met her in summer 1975 and married her in august then freddie jr. was born 7 months later. kathy knew him ( we all know him). i refuse to put kathy on a high mountain. if i had a millions of dollars i would raise a child right too especially when i did not have to work for it. talking about kathy makes me angry. INVESTIGATE on kathy. DO YOUR HOMEWORK . freddie was fine until he married her.she sent him over the edge. he should have stayed with pam grier because at least she has a job and she is in the entertainment field. kathy is the main reason why he is not here. kathy is a sensitive topic.if she did not want a drug addict she should not have married him. it says for better or for worse.so i will not bring up "QUEEN KATHY" anymore.

I don't know much about Chicos (Er Freddie's) wife but from what I read he committed suicide because she divorced him & wouldn't let him see his son. I can understand her having difficulty with his drug problems etc. He seems like a nice guy. I feel if she had done more to help him maybe he'd be here today & Chico would've been on tv longer. Maybe if she'd stayed & helped him he would've gotten better. I really don't know either of them or the whole situation tho.
I figure if he were still alive today he wouldn't have gray hair (or not much anyway) & wouldn't ever go bald & still look good. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
