Nope that award goes to Moby Dick with Old Man and the Sea being runner up.

Add Cyrano De Burgerac to that list.
Robert Tilton 10-04-2002, 08:09 AM The essence of The Outsiders can be summed up in the person of one Pony Boy Curtis, whose interaction with the Socias was a lovely thing this, a lovely thing this. Mixing with Cherry Valence, whose hair was as red as the sun S-U-N was the esoteric 'gene sai quoi' that made the opener of this classic a most righteous thing in the Cathode Ray Tube.
Now if Leonardo DiCaprio was in this picture, imagine the fainting that would have occured. For you look at the cast with Matt Dillon playing Dallas, Ralph Macchio (or Daniel Larusso of Karate Kid/Jeremy on 8 is Enough) playing Johnny Lawrence among other stars and what do you see? Quality. Amen.
And who could forget the classic Greasers vs Socias Rumble in which a certain Dallas said to the world:
Do it for Johnny!
But even so, let everybody watch this movie and enjoy it for as the wind blows and the grass grows and the lawn mows and the crow...well...crows, it must be said that this IS Classic TV Cathode Ray Viewing.
Uh oh. Time for Beddy Bed and Bizzy Biz.
Gotta run.
Like later.

~Tropical Punch 19~ 10-04-2002, 05:43 PM oh its OK. I kinda liked it, but not at first. I think it was well written considering the author was only like 15 or 16 when she wrote.
Plata 10-04-2002, 06:13 PM I've read The Outsiders. I hate it with a passion. It's the crappiest book I ever read. Who wants to read about teenagers that smoke and all that other crap? Did anyone ever read The Zucchinni Warriors by Gordon Korman? I hated it. It's about a football team and it wouldn't have been my choice to read it, but the teacher picked the groups for literature circles, so I was kind of stuck with it. In fact, pretty much everything I've read in school I thought was really crappy except for Sorry Wrong Number, To Kill A Mockingbird and Rebel Without A Cause. Was there ever a film made based on the book The Outsiders? If there was, in my opinion, I doubt it was any good.

I think they did make a movie out of the Outsiders. I think Patrick Swayze was in it. Let me dig up the link.
Yeah, it did have Patrick in it.
