Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Please Please Please’ Becomes her First No. 1 Single

Singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter has claimed the first No. 1 single of her career this week with “Please Please Please” leading the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Carpenter has been making a big splash ahead of the Aug. 23 release of her sixth studio album, “Short n’ Sweet.” In the last week, she made Hot 100 history when “Please Please Please” debuted at No. 2, while her viral hit “Espresso” sat at No. 3 — making her the first solo act in the history of the 66-year-old Billboard Hot 100 chart to land two simultaneous top-three hits.



This week, “Please Please Please” logs nearly 51 million official streams – Carpenter’s best career streaming week for a single – and a whopping increase of 502% in radio airplay audience impressions, according to Luminate.

Carpenter also claims the No. 4 song in the United States with “Espresso.” The recognition also extends to Carpenter’s label Island Records, who score their first No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Please Please Please.”
