View Full Version : Nick At Nite Memories
cubsfan1060 10-02-2002, 08:51 PM Before I begin here is a real crack up! Does anyone recall seeing a promo in 1995 with the announcer talking about having a good cry? Well, if Nick at Nite soon does not change their ways, they will do just that!LOL The only thing we can do is get people to sign a petition. The URL is www.petitiononline.com/nan1994/petition.html
Sign it and hopefull we can sit on our bums and get our Nick at Nite back where we want it!=)
What is your favorite ritual or moment watching I Love Lucy on Nick at Nite?
dawsongirl 10-03-2002, 08:39 PM I remember that promo. Funny. The best was the "Learn to Speak Lucy" ones. I still have them on tape from way back then.
SPLAIN 10-04-2002, 04:11 PM I always wished i had Nick at Nite here in Canada, wsas even considering getting a bootleg satellite dish to do so as these are illegal here, but from you guys have been saying lately, i'm glad i never spent the money!
dawsongirl 10-04-2002, 11:14 PM Not the way Nick is now at least. From what I've seen on my Route 66 tapes, Nick in the mid to late 80s was pretty cool. And from when I started watching in 1994 until 1999 or so, it was great, but now it's a...dung heep.
SPLAIN 10-07-2002, 10:15 AM TV Land is always driving me nuts here, wish one of us was in charge of their programming!

I'll take it!
You wouldn't trust me as the person in charge of programming! I wouldn't show anything but I Love Lucy and Leave It to Beaver all day! :)
Some people might like that, but most people would be less than thrilled...
SPLAIN 10-07-2002, 03:14 PM Don't they sorta do that now with those marathons? A nice balance should be achieved, i like other shows besides Lucy, Taxi Cheers, Mary Tyler Moore, Beverly Hillbillies, Golden Girls, i do like some dramas, but they have to be about regular people, not doctors or lawyers, so i liked Family and i like Gilmore Girls, i even liked Rosanne as the kids behaved the way real kids do. But in today's shows i only watch Sopranos Oz Raymond Friends Will and Grace, Malcolm and the Simpsons.
Barnabas1 10-11-2002, 10:13 AM Hey Claude! :happyface
SPLAIN 10-11-2002, 11:35 AM Thanks for posting guy, it's dead here lately, see you on your board soon! I hope my coming on here didn't make everybody leave, where is everybody?
dawsongirl 10-11-2002, 02:27 PM I'm sure people are just busy. It goes in spurts like that all the time.
SPLAIN 10-11-2002, 02:39 PM What's the matter with them all, don't they know there is nothing more important than posting on Lucy boards, only breathing is more important, and even that. . . So dawsongirldiva, how you doinnnnnnnnnnn?
dawsongirl 10-11-2002, 05:37 PM Well, eating, drinking, and sleeping are more important too don't you think? :)
I'm cool...busy, but not bad.

Looks like you're outnumbered bud. :D
oldshows 10-11-2002, 11:48 PM I like the Beverly Hillbillies, at least the first few seasons. The last few seasons weren't as good. Yeah Splain, I guess everybody is like me, too busy to go on here lately. Wake Forest University will take a lot of your time.

Everyone on that show drives me nuts! Ugh! And whose idea was it to replace I Love Lucy with Gilligan's Island at 9 pm on TV Land? They should be fired!

AMEN to that! (I know the University of Arkansas (where I go) does!):)
SPLAIN 10-15-2002, 11:01 AM I see your expertize, can't spell that one, extends to the Hillbillies too old shows, yes, the first few seasons were good, the last ones terrible, well it ran for 9 years, and was more popular than Lucy in it's prime, but the shows haven't aged as well as Lucy though. I'm sorry to say Granny is my second favorite character after Lucy. But the whole reason i watched back then was that it was set in Lucy's area, Beverly Hills, i kept wondering if her house would be shown, and i loved Irene Ryan, another workhorse like Lucy who lived to act and finally found the role of a lifetime in Granny, i was infatuated with Ellie Mae, went through puberty at the start of the show after all. Ms Ryan died on stage at a performance of Pippin just the way Lucy would have loved to die, while working and still hearing the laughter and the applause as she faded away!

And to think that will be on my TV instead of FOL next month. I'm so thrilled.

That's sinful. I mean, I don't watch FOL, but it has more social value in one episode than BH had in however many seasons it ran. :thumbsdow

I mean it's not only the fact that it's replacing FOL, it's just that couldn't they get a better show for that slot? And I'm not blaming it on HH's cause it's replacing My Three Sons (Which I didn't like anyway) But yea. The should have replaced it with a better show. Anything besides HIllbillies is fine by me!
