Now that summer is here and we all know that summertime is vacations and sometimes the funniest things can happen on summer vacations that make funny memories that will live on in your life forever. With that said I would like to hear your funniest things you encountered during your vacations today or through your childhood. With that said I'll start this thread with my funniest thing that happened on my childhood vacation and I hope you never had this happen on your vacations. It all started when I was "I think nine or ten years old" and my family was returning home from a week of camping and we decided to take a photo of us at Lake Tahoe and my dad was so excited to take our picture that my mom my aunt me and my cousin were the first ones out of our family van and we were standing there waiting for my dad waiting to set up the video camera and we waited and waited for Dad to finish setting up the video camera and then Dad finally showed up and he acted like The White Rabbit in Alice In Wonderland "you know the part where The White Rabbit tells Alice that he's late for an important date" and we stood there and my dad tells us to hurry up and smile for the camera and my cousin is complaining that he is hungry and wants to go get something to eat and my mom is standing there with me smiling for the camera and my aunt is smiling too but my dad kept telling us to hurry up and take our picture because some people were loading their boat up and we had to get back on the road quick. So anyway my dad took our photo and we got back to the van and we were laughing like crazy at Dad because he was rushing us. Today that story still makes me laugh a lot and I love hearing that story many times

Another funny vacation story I have is when my mom and dad and I were in Texas and we had just gotten back from visiting my grandmother who was recovering in the hospital and we had driven back to our hotel to unpack our luggage and get settled and we had just gotten our luggage unpacked when suddenly my mom freaked out at something in the closet and Dad and I were watching TV and we stopped to see why Mom freaked out and Mom found a big cockroach in the closet and then we found several more cockroaches and ants in the bathroom and we were stuck there because it was midnight and no other hotels were open until the morning. So we got out of that hotel first thing in the morning and went to a better hotel but it was funny to see my mother scared of insects and we still laugh about it today

One time when my family was vacationing in Texas for the summer my mom dad godfather and me went to Six Flags and Mom and I were gonna ride the ferris wheel together and after they loaded us up and the ride began we started waving to my dad and godfather and we kept waving at them but we couldn't see them because Dad was trying to film us riding the ferris wheel and suddenly when Dad had the camcorder ready to film us and my godfather was trying to wave at us and Dad was panicking and asked "where on earth could they be?" and I guess the ferris wheel was fast because Dad couldn't see us waving at my godfather and him. And so when the ride finished my mom and I asked Dad why he couldn't see us waving from the ferris wheel and Dad made an excuse that the camcorder wasn't working and that my godfather was trying to help Dad fix it but the camcorder really worked. But that story is so funny to me

I could say for me was "falling in love" with a Club Med Singles Fling, that was serious FUN and a lesson learned...

Another funny story was when we were going on vacation to Texas for the winter and we were driving and Dad was tired and we were trying to find a motel to stay for the night but every single motel was full so we decided to spend the night in our family truck and believe me it was so uncomfortable and I had to use my purse for a pillow and I couldn't get comfortable so I had to put my legs on the door of the truck and Mom had to sleep sitting next to Dad and being with Dad was like sleeping with Darth Vader because every hour he would snore. I begged my parents to get going because my legs were getting charley horses from being on the door and so we gave up sleeping and headed back on the road but sleeping in a truck is no fun and when my parents had our family van we used to camp in our van when we would visit Nevada and I liked that. But when we got to Texas I was glad to finally get some rest

Another funny and weird story was when my family went to Oklahoma to visit my godfather and we were "I think" returning from going shopping and my godfather decided to treat Mom and Dad to a barbecue restaurant and they were happy about it but my godfather asked my parents if I was gonna eat barbecue with them and they said "No we'll have to get something for Hawkee because Hawkee don't eat barbecue and she is picky at times" and so my godfather drove to every fast food place in town and I didn't want anything not even McDonald's so my godfather was running out of fast food restaurants for me to choose from and Mom and Dad had to get to the barbecue restaurant and so my godfather drove to Hardee's and Dad asked what we were doing at Hardee's and my godfather told him "I'm gonna get Hawkee a hamburger and fries" and he ordered it for me and then we drove to the barbecue place and I had to sit in the restaurant eating my burger and fries and my godfather laughed at me and so did Mom and Dad but it was the first and only time I ate at Hardee's and my burger was great and I did thank my godfather even though he got embarrassed at me. But now I love barbecue ribs and chicken today

I understand why ya like Hardees so much honey.. I had a hamburger there once also and it was Yummy yummy in my tummy :)

Another funny vacation story I have was when my family went to Walt Disney World and we were getting ready to go to the parks and everyone including me was dressed except for my cousin and we were getting tired of waiting for him to get up and get dressed because he was sleeping and so we told him to hurry up and get dressed because we were late for breakfast and when my cousin continued to sleep my dad took the video camera and recorded him sleeping and when he saw Dad filming him my cousin got up and then he started teasing me and accused me of making a movie of him sleeping but in the end it was really funny

Another funny vacation story was when I was in Oklahoma visiting my godfather and he and a friend of his took us fishing and I was hoping to catch a good fish but then my godfather took off in his car to do something "i'm not sure what it was he had to do?" and my mother dad and my godfather's friend saw me catch a big fish but I nearly caught it when suddenly my godfather came and honked his car horn and spooked my fish and he said he was sorry for distracting me but my godfather was gonna take my big fish to the supermarket to sell but he was proud of me but it is a funny story

Another funny vacation story was when my family was camping and we were going to Nevada to shop and everyone was dressed and in the car except my aunt and we told her to hurry up because we needed to go shopping and my cousin and I were waiting in the car and we kept screaming for my aunt to hurry up and after a few minutes my aunt showed up to the car and we asked her what took her so long and it turned out she was putting her makeup on and combing her hair and getting dressed and when we got to Reno to shop my aunt apologized and said sorry. But it goes to show if you are on vacation never wait on someone who's a slowpoke when you're going out. I still don't know why my aunt had to dress up so much for a shopping trip? But today my family laughs at that story because it was so funny
