If the 2 channels were condensed to 1, wouldn’t there be LESS variety?

As it is now I'm confused because most shows airing on Rewind TV used to be on Antenna TV, it's like I can't place what decades each channel is dedicated to.

Antenna TV is mostly focusing on sitcoms from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, with some 1980s sitcoms and a couple of 1990s ones (including Becker, Wings and more recently, The Drew Carey Show), while Rewind TV is mainly sitcoms from the 1980s and 1990s, hence it slogan "Playback the '80s and '90s".
