A Honeymooners Juneteenth:
(Ralph & Ed are on the park bench.)
Ralph: “I can’t believe that Juneteenth is almost here.”
Ed: “Me neither. Our newest holiday.”
Ralph: “It’s for blacks to celebrate ending of slavery.”
Ed: “A great day.”
Ralph: “Yes. I also read that Joe Biden signed it into law in 2021. That’s one good thing he did.”
Ed: “We have some black people at the Raccoon Lodge and they love this holiday.”
Ralph: “Yes and our Raccoons are gonna celebrate it this June 19th. We even made a song and going to howl at the end.”
Ed: “May I echo those words?”
Ralph: “You certainly may.”
(Ed raises up his cup from his lunchbox. Ralph does the same.)
Ed: “To June 18th.”
(They toast. Then they sing a song about June 18th being on June 19th.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: “Thank you. The Miami Beach crowds are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”
(Crowd cheers.)
