Does anybody know when AOL 8.0 is coming out???

i dunno but i know im not getting it.

Late 3rd quarter-early 4th quarter....... With it...... More Icons.... new Toolbar look... A way to send Music Clips through IM's...... As well as being able to customize the heck outta IMS.... As well as possibly replacing IE in it with Netscape Nevigator....... All this info coming from a beta tester article..... As well as other stuff most likely..... AOL is really advertising it...... So it should be interesting........

Anyone use aol back during AOL 3.0 and 2.5?

I remember 3.0. OMG There is nothing like left of AOL 3.0 on 7.0. When I go back to AOL next year I'm going to 5.0 first cause that's my favorite version. But if AOL 8.0 gets good reviews I might go to that one . . .

I remember on 2.5 it had an actual picture of a mailbox to the little aol mailbox you click on to read your mail lol...... 5.0 has no away messages though :(

I had 3.0 up until when 5.0 came out. It was so slow...but that could have been my computer I guess.

I don't know if I'll get it or not...it takes SO long to download. But I might do it just for the hell of it.

Ya mean...this? Cuz I have 7.0...

I have no idea when it's coming out. I really don't care. I never downloaded 7.0.

I like 6.0 I guess but I might try 8.0

I loved 4.0... but then my computer crashed and we had to get a new one, and we got 6.0. I do like 6.0 though.

I like 6.0 best... 5.0 @ my gramma's is cool, but I got sick of no away messages, so I downloaded AIM there :lol:

I never even got to 6.0. I had 5, then tried to upgrade to 6 and it totally effed up my whole computer and we got rid of it. It's slower than all heck, too.

As anybody's AOL Changed a little bit? I mean your profile exc?
Mine as it look's differnt then it normally look's like..It look's kinda wierd, maybe it's getting ready to change to AOL 8.0..B/c that's coming really soon, I was just wondering that's all...

Oh dang... I just checked profiles... They look wayyy different now... ye AOL 8.0 is coming :)....... I remember in AOL 3.0 you couldn't even change your text color... lol.... 4.0 was such a giant step from 3.0....



I should try to find some beta testers and ask them about it.... All the Info Ive found out came from an article on it that like beta testers wrote....

I'm a beta tester for AOL and I heard that 8.0 will be released to the public around October 15th. It's also very different and worth downloading.

Yep you're correct! I just did a search for articles about 8.0... According to this article... it will come out next tuesday(15th)

another article that tells about its features... AOL 8.0 is going to include a thing that says when the other person is typing a message in the IM like in AIM 5.0... thank goodness thats going to be added......

I am now using aol 8.0...Oh man its different but its really cool.... Lots of stuff you can custmoize...

I got AOL 8.0 it's pretty cool it came out the other day i downloaded it! It's way differnt then AOL 6.0 hopefully this version doesn't get errors like 7.0 did :) has any downloaded it yet? If so ,do u like it?

Yea Its awesome... I like how you can customize the sounds it plays on others computers when you IM them... I got it playing a sound of an Alien talking when I IM peeps lol....

Yes I knew about the sound threw IM, i did have the Creed song playing lol but that doesn't play all the song which kinda stink's.
Do u know any websites for AOL 8.0 for the background's, or just what they have on there? They have okay stuff..I've been decorated my IM alot to all differnt kind's of holiday's exc..

hi everyone. Did any of you have problems with the AOL 8.0? I did, i had to delete it, and download 7.0 back..That was giving me alot of trouble!! Now my computer is running alot better, i fixed it last night, i was on my computer this morning,and i didnt get booted or frozed up so thats good.
I'm just gonna wait till the AOL 8.0 disk comes out. And maybe i'll download it Then..Let me know how u guys made out with it.

Sounds cool! I remember aol 3.0 LOL.. it was grey and purple I think :/ I am glad I got rid of aol though.. I :heart: my cable modem.
