During the time popular novelty items began a trend they each had their own As Seen On TV commercials. One of the most popular novelty items and I don't know why they became popular in the first place was singing fish and it's all thanks to a novelty item that started it all known as Big Mouth Billy Bass. Debuting in 1998 Big Mouth Billy Bass was a fish who sang and as you can see by the commercial "which I was unable to locate by the way" Big Mouth Billy Bass can really move and sing really well. The songs Big Mouth Billy Bass sung were Take Me To The River and Don't Worry Be Happy and the commercial is so fun to see as you watch this fish in action. Big Mouth Billy Bass was a huge bestseller for Christmas 1998 and inspired a trend of singing fish most notably Louie The Loudmouth Bass. Believe it or not my grandmother gave me my own Big Mouth Billy Bass for Christmas and my mom and I were amazed at how cool it was and I still have it today
