The end for "The Boys" is in sight. Series creator Eric Kripke announced today that the series will end with the upcoming fifth season.

“Season 5 will be the Final Season!,” Kripke wrote on X. “Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!”

The Boys Season 5's Ending Confirmation Avoids The Big Problem That Hurt Supernatural (https://screenrant.com/the-boys-season-5-ending-supernatural-problem-avoid/)

As bad as it is to see The Boys (https://screenrant.com/tag/the-boys/) go after season 5, the superhero series will avoid a hugely divisive decision that Supernatural famously made.

It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims.

Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people.

The final season premieres April 8th on Prime

The Boys’ final season wrestles with goodbyes in a way that its targets typically can’t (or won’t) (https://www.indiewire.com/criticism/shows/the-boys-season-5-review-final-season-death-1235187327/)

Unlike its real-world targets that often dodge accountability, the show ensures its characters face the consequences of their actions, including a brutal, early-season death of a key character.
