I had another idea the other nite (I always get my ideas when I'm the busiest...). I was thinking of bringing Duke back. Frankly, I love that guy. LOL. And remember...he has amnesia. Oooo! :D
Tell me what you think... I have about 3/4 of a page written just reintroducing him; it's actually kinda funny. I'm proud. LOL.

:wave: Hi! I'm kinda new here, but I've read your fanfic over at FanFiction.net. You stay very true to character, which is a problem with so many fanfics, and you're not alone in thinking that Mary Ann and Gilligan should have gotten together--I've thought that for 25 years! :lol:

When I was about 3-years-old, my imaginary playmate was named "Gilligan". Now, keep in mind I'm nearly 37 now! :rolleyes: I met Bob Denver a few years ago, and told him this. He seems like a really nice guy.

Hey, I have some more details about the Duke story. I wrote some more last nite (interesting...since I have 3 projects due on Monday and I haven't done any of them. huh).
Ginger and Mary Ann get into a tiff (ooh, I said 'tiff').
Then I pull the classic gotta-pretend-to-be-my-BF-so-this-dude'll-leave-me-alone. Love that. Kinda like what they did in the Duke ep...only different.
It's hard to explain 'cause I don't wanna give away stuff. So I guess you'll just haveta read it. Hehehe.
**giggles at self** Oh, Duke...he's so dense.

OOH, AN EXCERPT!:

“Oh, Duke, darling,” Ginger started, blatantly overacting, “Mary Ann here was just explaining to me about how she found you in the jungle.” She made her way around the table and stood unnecessarily close to him.
“Well, I more like rescued her.”
Ginger gasped, feigning impression, “Really? That must be why she’s so smitten with you.” Mary Ann turned, horrified. Ginger answered her surprise with a sweet smile and a continuation of her tale. “Why, she was just telling me how incredibly handsome she thought you were.” Duke grinned. His head proceeded to bob back and forth in that irritating way men’s heads do when they think they’re suave. “See ya,” Ginger purred. She winked at them both before sauntering off to her hut.
“I cannot believe she just did that.”
“It’s okay, baby. It had to come out sometime. Move it, kid.” He shoved Gilligan off the end of the bench and sat down in his spot next to Mary Ann.
“Get away from me, Duke.”
“You don’t have to be embarrassed anymore. It’s all out in the open.”
She sensed he was getting ready to put his arm around her. “Touch me and die.” She wouldn’t look at him.
There was silence for a moment until he burst out laughing. “You’re so cute when you’re angry.”

:wave: Sounds pretty interesting! You're really good at staying true to character--I don't read much fanfic because so much of it is fake-sounding--you want to cringe while reading it! But I've enjoyed yours.

i KNOW! i'm the same way. very paranoid about keeping them all in character. i try. the story i'm working on...well....i let my friend read what i have so far (she's not really a gilligan fan btw), and she loved it. she likes corny sappy romances. lol. but she wanted me to make it....um....shall we say "more romantic" in the one part....she was giving me suggestions....and i was like "NO! the professor would NOT do that!" LOL! it's weird....because once you kind of get them into character....the story writes itself. i don't think about what they're going to say next....it just happens. anyway....i've been working on it....i hope to have it done soon. but i think i'm going to maybe divide it up into parts....so i'm going to try to have the first part done by the end of the month. i'm slow. i only have so much time to type when i'm alone in the kitchen without everyone looking over my shoulder. i need my own computer. lol.

my site has not been abandoned. it's going to be awhile before it's updated though....because the stuff i'm doing involves watching every episode carefully. i'm doing a numbers thing.....like "how many times ginger flirts with someone" "how many times the skipper calls gilligan 'little buddy'".....and so on (those are some of the lame ones....there are more). i'm making a list of all the visitors to the island, all the professor's inventions, and anything else i can think of. i want to have a lot of different and fun stuff that nobody else has on their site. it's going to take a while. but i will have a fan section....for fan fic, art, and anything else. if it ends up anything like the picture in my mind....i think it'll be pretty good. lol

Crap crap crappity crap! (I'm sorry...I had to). I've hit the hugest brick wall in my story! My problem is, I try to go all these different directions at once and then I can't fit everything in logically. I donno what the hell I'm doing with Allyson. So far, she's kinda getting in the way. Drat and blast...

I want there to be a 'quarrel' only b/c I have one itty-bitty cute detail I *really* want to add. I'm inventing a fight for one bit of cuteness...oh boy. But then I don't know how to resolve it, and fit Ally in, AND get back on track after that. (I also have no track to go back to, as of now.)

my problem is that i started this story before i had seen every episode....and new stuff keeps coming up that happened before and is screwing up the plot. i think i finally got it figured out though.....but i wish the stupid writers would have been consistant with their story lines!!! i mean....every time the professor and ginger kiss.....they act like it's the first time. actually....the first time was the only one that the professor actually knew what the heck he was doing! (duke episode). i mean....that was a KISS....you can't tell me that he never did that before! they really made him dumber in the second season.

i was originially going to start it from like, a month or so after the movie kiss....but then there was the whole erika tiffany smith episode....and THEN i saw the duke one and it's like....WHAT THE HECK??? what's he talking about "unsanitary"?? he's kissed her before!!!!! their history is so screwed up. so instead i started from a month after the kiss in the erika tiffany smith episode. i'm still not sure how i'm going to work in the professor's fear of bacteria transfer in the movie kiss.....but i'm hoping a way will present itself as i write. maybe he was pretending cause he was nervous or something. yeesh! i don't know! i don't know!!

LOL. I think the writers were going more for his character than continuity. Like, he was supposed to be an academic, detached from that sort of thing (even tho he totally wasn't. lol), so that's the way they played/wrote it, regardless of how it was played/written previously. **shrug** Oh, the entertainment business...I'll be sure to remedy TV when I become an executive. **grin**

i hate it when people describe the professor as "uninterested in women" or "he doesn't like them" or even that he's "asexual" (he can reproduce with himself? oooookkkkkk...lol). sure, he was quite often preoccupied with his work, sure he didn't have much experience....but what do people find so wrong with a guy who is more interested in intelligent conversation than "hugging and kissing....kissing and hugging"??? just because he isn't all over the girls doesn't mean he doesn't know they're there. have morals decayed that much that everyone thinks there's something wrong with a guy that acts like a gentleman? sheesh! i see absolutely nothing wrong with him. i'd take him anyday. i guess guys like him don't exist in real life. *sigh* i am never going to find a husband. lol

My story, sequel to "And Baby Makes 8," hasn't been added to in FOREVER. I really should get on that. I will, I promise.

And as far as the "Island Wedding" this goes, JT's definitely fallen off the face of the planet, so I don't think we'll get to read it any time in the near future.

Mind if I copy, or would it freak you out? I think I'd like to do that, just for fun, but only with the first season. (We still don't have cable back.) It'll give me a reason to watch the DVD again.
