View Full Version : Greg's HUGE change over the series
TheLittleFaerie 06-06-2024, 03:33 AM When I watch my DVDs I usually just skip around and watch random episodes, and of all the kids, it seems Greg went through the biggest change. In the early episodes he's a total little boy, then at the end he's a total grown man! The other kids are at least recognizable from start to end, but Greg's change is so extreme. Any one else think this?
I'm trying to find episodes that capture him in his in between phase

Being that he was the oldest kid it would be natural he would go through the most changes from child, teen, puberty, and adult. I also think Jan could rival Greg. She was a tiny cute girl and in the last few episodes she is a woman with breasts and wearing heals.
The saddest part is how young they tried to keep Cindy. She wore those pig tails all the way through until the early part of the 5th season. They tried to keep her in the young, cute, dumb role and when she was older it just looks creepy.

Marcia seemed similar to Jan in regard to shoes and physical development at the beginning.
Johnny be good! 06-07-2024, 01:59 AM Greg also seemed more reserved in the first season. But once he realized Carol and the girls weren’t going anywhere, he finally relaxed.

I thought Greg really had an extra SHORT TEMPER in the early episodes. When he and Marcia would get into their spats, he sometimes looked like he could tear her apart lol.... But as he aged he really mellowed out and became the level-headed one that the other kids seem to look at as a 2nd "fatherly" type, always going to him for advice.
I know when I was little watching the show I'd often fantasize about being part of their family, and Greg was the one I always pictured myself just lounging on the patio with and having deep intellectual conversations.
Peter would have been my comical mischief friend, him showing me a new magic trick every day and me talking him into pulling pranks with me lol
Jan would have been my best friend and confidant, I think we could relate to each other a lot, I would have also enjoyed her pranky side, as I always loved to pull pranks when I was little.
I'm not sure about the rest, Marcia and I would probably butt heads a lot lol

Yes, they tried to keep the little kid energy with Cindy, once Oliver arrived she lost her pigtails, and they attempted to make Oliver the new little kid to get back the energy of the earlier years that made the show work so well
And yes, you're right! Jan was pretty much the same up until the last season and she REALLY looked different! And I thought she acted differently too, more sophisticated or something
Dianne3 06-10-2024, 02:43 PM I also think Greg went through the biggest change.
In season 1 and up until a certain point in season 2 Greg's hair is straight. At some point in season 2, Greg's hair is starting to get curly. By season 3, Greg is the first Brady male with curly hair. Just from season 1 to season 3, Greg looks so different.
I also agree about Greg's demeanor in the earlier episodes. He was more short-tempered.
The attic which was too tiny in season 2 for a room, became bigger at the end of season 4, which I'm sure was because Greg was looking way too old to be still sharing a room with his brothers. In the final episode, Greg's room even had a shower.
I do know that Barry was almost 2 years older than Maureen. But even knowing that, by the later years Greg seems so much older than his Brady siblings.
Cindy was in pigtails for 3 season, then braids for the 4th and the first half of the final season.

If you mean when Bobby was conditioning Gregs hair, that scene took place in the Jack and Jill bathroom.

Greg's attic room appeared to have bathroom facilities behind the beads, there is at least as sink back there, I'm not sure about the rest. Mike may have had facilities installed up there, so Greg wouldn't have to be going up and down stairs all the time to use the bathroom plus it would free up the kids' bathroom a bit also
Bachu 06-14-2024, 02:18 PM Getting Gregs Goat gives us the best look behind there; it's just a sink to wash in.
The scene where Bobby adds his hair tonic to Gregs hair takes place just before the add break in the middle of the show. Ad the editing before suggests Greg and Bobby went in there. After the break, Greg storms out of the bathroom into the boys room.

What I am referring to hapened a few minutes later.
Greg comes out of the shower in his attic bedroom telling Peter that the color still didn't wash out.

I see. That scene took place at 17m 54s into the episode on the dvds. I see your thinking. Personally I was left thinking he washed it again in his little sink.
