Imagine my surprise when I got to work this morning and there is Rue's picture right in the center of yahoo.com! It's the same photo that RueMcClanahanFan has in her avatar.
If you click on it, it takes you to something like "Words of Wisdom" about breast cancer, and there are several ladies who offer inspiration to the survivors and sufferers of this terrible disease.

You should also be able to just go to www.yahoo.com and link up (although I'm not sure if they will rotate pics or anything)...

Hey, cool! I came home at lunch and checked my site stats and noticed the visitor count was waaaay above average for that time of day. So that's why! People must see Rue on the Yahoo homepage and then look her up--because I'm getting a boatload of visitors and they're all coming from Yahoo, so that would explain it.
It does rotate pictures. Every time you reload the page, a new photo appears. They have about 25 different women, but then when you actually click on the picture, it takes you to a page with all of the women's photos and links to their quotes.
Oddly enough, Rue's quote was actually referring to animal rights (and more specifically, being a vegetarian). But it does fit!

Hey Katie! I've had above average hits today aswell. Now, at 23.15 BST, I have had over 260 visitors - that's about 100 up on my average in 24hrs. All of my hits are coming from Yahoo! aswell. I wondered why I was more popular today :lol: Long may it continue that's what I say :D

Yeah, I hope they leave it up for a while!! Right now according to my site stats, I've had over 160 visitors so far today--and there's still nearly 5 hours left in the day before it resets. My average is around 90-100 visitors a day, so this is a big jump! And they're ALL coming from Yahoo and for the first time ever, ALL of the search queries are "Rue McClanahan." I usually get a lot of people who find the site looking for celebrities with breast cancer and stuff like that. But this time, they're all specifically for Rue.
I hope Yahoo leaves this up for a long time, lol!

They haven't done anything with that stuff since the first week. It kind of sucks, because it could get more people involved.
Oh well... At least I got to see Rue...
