"Hello Avon Calling"
I'm sure many of you remember seeing Avon representives coming to your house using the above greeting? In the 50's Avon debuted a series of commercials showing off the many beauty and latest items that they sold in addition to other items such as toys for kids and household items. While Avon is known for their perfumes they are best known for selling their famous makeups and the 50's commercials for Avon are so amazing compared to today's Avon commercials that even though with online shopping becoming popular Avon is still surviving today. My aunt's friend was an Avon representive and she would give my aunt catalogues of the things she sold and my aunt would buy my mom and I Christmas gifts from Avon. My mom and I used to get Avon catalogues as well because we used to have neighbors who sold Avon in our neighborhood and the Avon catalogues were so cool to look through
