What's some of the worst weather you can remember that hit your town in recent years? Was it a tornado? Hurricane? Blizzard?

Maryland's had some hurricanes but never a direct hit. We had some nasty blizzards over the years as well, I can remember getting a storm with a foot of snow then 2 days later getting smacked with another storm that had over a foot of snow. Tornadoes are rare, and earthquakes only happen if VA or Jersey gets them.

Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The rain and wind wasn't that bad but the flooding was.

The worst weather my town had was when a huge storm arrived in the winter and it was so bad that my family had no power for a week and we couldn't even go to the grocery store to get groceries because it was closed for a week and so Mom Dad and me had to eat McDonald's and Mexican food for a week but once the storm cleared and the power was restored we finally were able to get groceries and cook food again. The second biggest storm happened last winter when Dad was in the hospital and Dad would be calling me and Mom to make sure that we were safe because every night we'd get power outages but they would happen when Mom and I were sleeping but every morning Dad would still worry about us and we never worried about food when the lights went out because Mom and I lived on Wendy's and Wingstop and when we did eat at home Mom and I ate roast beef sandwiches and ramen. But Dad came home during the storm and they almost didn't bring him because it was stormy but they were able to and when he got home from the hospital he was amazed at how well Mom and I were able to handle ourselves during the storm and he was proud of us

The Summer of 2020 was very hot here.

I have been keeping a record of the temperatures since 1981 and a record high was broken... 120 degrees F on Sept. 6. Nearby Woodland Hills also recorded a record high of 121 degrees F.

And on Aug. 16, Death Valley had its hottest temperature in recent years at 130 degrees F. The following year, 2021, Death Valley again hit 130 degrees.

An EF-1 tornado tore through the south side of a Northern Indiana city in the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Elkhart is east of where I am. The tornado hit a residential area with 90 mph winds. Tremendous amount of tree damage to homes and vehicles.

Thankfully to my knowledge no one was injured, but a teen had a close call. A tree landed on his 2nd story bedroom bed. But luckily he was sleeping downstairs on a couch at the time.

This year we got a lot of heat advisories that should have been excessive heat warnings because of the heat index being in the 100's towards the end of June and into July.

We also had some tornado watches that didn't expire until 8 or 9. A couple places, west of me, had warnings.
