Hello! I'm new to the site, and this is my first thread :)

So I've been watching a lot of MeTV lately in celebration of MeTV Toons' launch, and I noticed that they are using clips of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C for their idents lately, even the Summer of Me idents. It currently airs on MeTV+, but is this a sign of it returning to the main network soon?

I know they used to air the show before moving it, but why would they use clips from a show that is no longer on the schedule?

Maybe Snowpeck, who sometimes posts advance info. about the MeTV networks, will reply to this.

First of all, welcome to the forum.

I'd like to see Gomer Pyle USMC back. Adding it could help with reducing MASH back to an hour.

I could see MASH for an hour (6pm eastern time), then Andy Griffith Show for an hour, one episode of Gomer Pyle USMC, an hour of The Beverly Hillbillies, and an episode of Green Acres, followed by an hour of Hogan's Heroes.

Unfortunately MeTV loves MASH and Hogan's Heroes so I don't see either leaving anytime soon. Changes on MeTV are few and take a long time to happen.

MeTV has made commercials with shows that aren't being aired on the channel. Weigel Broadcasting owns tons of retro tv shows and sadly a lot of them are not airing on MeTV because they feel if it doesn't bring in the ratings, it will not air ever again, which is why the last big schedule change happened in 2017.

I’m surprised at your statement, TVFactFan. You used to like MeTV. I personally don’t think it’s the worst digital TV channel, but the same old shows do get incredibly tiring. They could add some more sitcoms like Good Times, Maude, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Cheers, Gomer Pyle, etc. At least they haven’t started adding lots of 90’s, 00’s, and 10’s shows like TV Land.

Its not really a comfort type of show where u can fall back and watch and laugh. It was too serious at times along with Maude.

The world has always been a messed up place. One stupid sitcom with a message ain’t ever going to change it for the better.

Sort of reminds me of the movie, Sullivan's Travels. The main star of the movie was tired of directing comedies and wanted to direct a movie similar to the Grapes Of Wrath. After experiencing real human suffering, hardships and being brought down to the place of a common man, he seen how of all things, a Disney Pluto cartoon could make everyone forget their troubles and suffering for a brief few moments and laugh. When he was finally able to make it back to California, "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" was ditched and he decided to only direct comedies from that point forward.

It would be nice if Me TV would switch things around once in a while. I know they love MASH, Andy Griffith, Hogan's Heroes and others, but how about occasionally moving them to different time slots?
