In 2001 Nickelodeon released the movie Snow Day which featured a song sung by Hoku and little did we know thanks to Nickelodeon Hoku would become a teen sensation. Geffen released Hoku's self-titled debut album and she released a single called How Do I Feel also known as The Burrito Song and another single called What You Need was gonna be a hit single as well. For a 16 year old Hoku "which means star in Hawaiian" lived up to her name and she had talent and could've competed with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera easily. The last I heard about Hoku she released the single Perfect Day that was from the movie Legally Blonde but then she disappeared. It seemed to me that Hoku had amazing talent and she could've gone far to release a second album. Why Hoku disappeared from music i'll never know

When it comes to teen pop singers of the 2000's I think Hoku should've made herself a big name in music because when I got her debut album I was impressed with her talent and her music was a pop-surf guitar and R&B mix and Hoku had awesome talent and I think Geffen Records didn't give the album enough promotion and the only other song that became a single was How Do I Feel "The Burrito Song" but I think due to Nickelodeon marketing Hoku in the movie Snow Day I think they were trying to make her a star much like they did with Victoria Justice and with Hoku Nickelodeon thought she could be their answer to Britney Spears was to Disney. What is Hoku doing now? Is she still singing or did she get married and have children?
