Thank you to all who replied to my earlier posting. I know many wondered about the work I was referring to. It is from "TV Guide" (yes, a publication that should know better) from 1989 titled "At Last! Women Worth Watching."

There, the author says:

"June Cleaver on 'Leave It to Beaver,' Donna Stone on 'The Donna Reed Show' and the whole page-boyed [sic] sisterhood whose repertoire ran from
fussing to fainting to cooking."

While Margaret Anderson is not mentioned specifically, I consider the four classic TV moms of the era to be her, June Cleaver, Donna Stone and Harriet Nelson. Hence, my question.

If anyone wants the exact citation, let me know, I'll look it up for you.

I can't speak for Donna Stone because I haven't watched much of The Donna Reed Show, but I have seem most episodes of Leave It to Beaver and not once have I seen June Cleaver faint, either.

Not only do I not remember any of them fainting, I don't remember Margaret, Harriet or June Cleaver ever wearing a page boy either. June and Harriet had really short hair as I remember, and Margaret's was fairly short with regular curls, right?
